Difference between IMAP and POP3

05:47
Difference between POP3 and IMAP What is IMAP and POP? These two are the most common incoming email protocols. These protocols are used to connect your mail box server to an email client. Here an email client refers to for an example (microsoft outlook or mozila thunderbird). So basically it allows you to send and receive the emails from mail client just we mentioned from Outlook or Thunderbird to your desktop/laptop. It also allows you to access your Emails through Online web services like Gmail, Microsoft Mail or on the mobile devices like your smart phones or tablets. Whats the difference? What is POP? So POP stands for Post office Protocol and the latest version is POP3 and it is supported by all email client and servers. POP3 download mails on your local device(Computer or Phone or Tablets) using the client and deletss them from the email server. By using POP an internet connected email client, accesses the mail server, then it download all your mails to local device(Computer or Phone or Tablets) and then it marks the messages for deletion on Email Server. So it means that if you have received emails using POP, they can only be accessible on specific email client on a specific device that you downloaded to. Which means that they can not be accessible through the other clients on devices other than that you downloaded to. However some email clients allow you to keep the copy of emails on server. and once you delete them from your client it may not get synced with the email server. What is IMAP? IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. Unlike POP3 which downloads and auto deletes the emails from email server, IMAP allows us to view emails from any internet connected Email Clients or web email services from any device at multiple locations. This feature has made it popular So basically if you are using IMAP to access your mails, your email client receives a copy of emails and the original stays on the email server, rather than deleting them from server. This feature makes is possible for us to access our mails from any client on any devices unless you deletes them from one client. Synchronization is done with all the devices and email server. If you delete an email from one of the client on one of the devices, it gets deleted from the server and other devices too. Main Differences are as below. 1) If you want to receive your e-mail messages only on one single computer or device, then POP3 is usefull, while using IMAP you can access your mails on multiple devices simultaneously at any time. 2) POP is a one way communication, because it deletes the messages once you download them to your local device and then disconnects the device from Mail Server, While IMAP is a two way communication, where retrives your mails and caches it on local device and keep the original content on server. Synchronication is done both the way. 3) Both protocols operate on different ports. 4) POP3 does not require an internet connection if you want to access the downloaded e-mails unless you want to retrieve new e-mails. While IMAP which stores your emails in cache only requires internet connection all the time.

Setup exchange email on android

03:28
Here is a quick tutorial to setup your Exchange Email account on your Android phone. Hello and welcome to the Braintek video tutorials. My name is Greg, owner of Braintek. Today, I’m going to show you how to add your exchange email onto your Android phone. So here, I’ve got a Samsung device. We’re going to go over here to ‘Apps.’ Look for ‘Email’ on the list. And if you don’t have an account, it’ll bring you right up to here. So we can just go ahead and add our Exchange account. Go ahead and type in your email address. Type in your password. Click ‘Next.’ Here, we’re going to choose a type. We’re going to choose ‘Microsoft Exchange.’ It’s going to look for some settings and if it can’t find it, we’re going to have to populate some additional settings here. We’re just going to wait and see how this looks. Security warning. So, the site name doesn’t match. That’s okay. We’re going to click ‘Continue.’ Unable to set up the account. So that means we just need to add some additional settings, so make sure that you have these settings ahead of time. So you’re going to need your Domain – this is going to be the network domain that you would use at your office. You need to know the server address – this would be the outside address. That’s the only two settings we’re going to change here. We’re going to leave everything else. If everything is correct, it should continue. So it says “Remote security.” If your server has this then that’s okay, click ‘Okay.’ Here, it’s going to ask us for some settings on how long we want to sync – so we can do 3 days – push-push is all fine, what it’s going to retrieve, how often it’s going to sync your calendar, do you want it to sync your email contacts, calendar, tasks, sync text messages. So I’m just going to leave all of the defaults here. We’re going to click ‘Next.’ Here it’s says the server is going to have some abilities. You can review that. We’re just going to click ‘Activate.’ Here, we’re going to give it some kind of name so if you’ve got multiple email accounts, you can decide which way you’d like it to be set. We’re going to click ‘Done.’ Here, it brings us to the mail box so we’ll just go ahead and compose a new message. We’re just going to send it to ourselves. We’re going to send it. And there it is. Our test message just came in that we just sent to ourselves. Sent from this Galaxy S5. I’d like to thank you for watching the Braintek video tutorials. Please check out our other videos on the Braintek channel and have a great day!

NOTE - This video is a joke, but I have switched to only making REAL tech videos, see some here ▶ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFr3c472VstzAUSTygS0YZKoqjNQCESAI Most cell carriers no longer offer unlimited data plans. But in this joke tutorial I'm going to show you how you can get unlimited data for free, and this will work on any cell phone or cell carrier. It works by tricking your cell carrier into thinking you haven't downloaded any data at all, therefore giving you unlimited cell data to download. ▼ More Videos ▼ How to Get Gigabit Internet for Free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgVxevWFSNM&list=PLFr3c472Vstyzq3WECllYHH7qxOHYSdZG&index=13 Upgrade Your TV to HDR for Free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dG9owYyq1k&list=PLFr3c472Vstyzq3WECllYHH7qxOHYSdZG&index=22

Sync Samsung Galaxy S7 with Outlook

03:47
This video shows how to synchronize your Galaxy S7 with Outlook data in a few simple steps. AkrutoSync supports syncing Outlook contacts, calendars, notes and tasks with Galaxy S7 and other Android phones and tablets. Check more details here: http://www.akruto.com/best-ways-to-sync-android-with-microsoft-outlook/ What's so hard about syncing Samsung Galaxy S7 with Outlook? The answer is in the major vendors' policies that push people to use cloud without giving reliable non-cloud alternatives. If you don't want to store your data on 3rd party servers, your closest solution is Samsung Smart Switch, which in the most cases can't be called reliable because of the constant freezes and duplicated entries. This makes most of Galaxy S7 users search for Smart Switch alternatives for their Android devices. And the answer to these searches is AkrutoSync. How to sync Galaxy S7 with Outlook contacts using AkrutoSync Syncing Outlook contacts is one of the first things Outlook users do when buying a new Galaxy smartphone. And while native software could generate many issues, AkrutoSync syncs contacts in a blink of an eye without even a chance of duplicating something. To sync contacts between your desktop Outlook and Galaxy S7, install and open AkrutoSync. Then, when asked to choose the type of data for syncing, choose the proper contacts folder you want to sync with Galaxy S7. Follow the rest of steps and modify Galaxy S7 sync settings to enable two-way syncing. Syncing calendar events between Galaxy S7 and Outlook Syncing Outlook calendar with Galaxy S7 is easy when you have AkrutoSync. Simply choose the proper Outlook calendar folder you want to sync and follow the rest of steps to modify your Galaxy S7 settings. After everything is done, all past and current calendar events will be transferred from Outlook into the native calendar app of your smartphone. The entire syncing process takes just a few minutes and after this, every new calendar event or even a slightly change in an appointment will be automatically synced across all connected devices. This method is your best your best option in case Outlook calendar not syncing with Smart Switch or you simply don’t like using cloud services for your personal data. Syncing Outlook Tasks with Galaxy S7 Many Outlook power users use Outlook Tasks to manage their schedule and to-do lists. If you are one of the, then syncing Outlook tasks with your Galaxy S7 something you should do right after buying this new smartphone. In order to sync Outlook Tasks open AkrutoSync and go to Configure AkrutoSync in the program’s main window. After choosing the type of connection, choose proper tasks folder and follow tips illustrated in the interface to complete syncing. Now your PC Outlook is ready to transfer the data and you need to setup everything on Galaxy S7 side. To work with Outlook tasks you should install a special app called Tasks and Notes for MS Exchange, which will enable your Galaxy S7 to sync tasks data. Another option is called Touchdown and it can also work the same way as the app suggested before. How to transfer Outlook Notes from Outlook to Galaxy S7 Syncing notes is similar to syncing any other type of Outlook data described above. Just like with Tasks, you should specify the proper notes folder in AkrutoSync interface and install one of the following apps on Galaxy S7: • Touchdown app • Tasks and Notes for MS Exchange After you will finish the setup process, all the tasks you will add in either Outlook interface or Galaxy S7 will be synced with all connected devices automatically. This means you don’t have to press anything after changing something in your notes folder – AkrutoSync will do everything behind the scene. And here are some answers to the common questions about syncing Outlook with Galaxy S7: Q: If I have two Galaxy S7 smartphone, can I sync both devices with Outlook 2013? A: You can sync unlimited Android devices with your PC Outlook within one license. And in case you want to connect two smartphones of the same model, AkrutoSync allows that. Q: How do I connect Calendar events from my home where I have Outlook 2010 and from my office PC with Office 2016? I need both calendars to sync with my Galaxy S7. A: To do this, you need to have two AkrutoSync license codes and install it on both of your PCs. After this, choose the right connection method for each PC (Wi-Fi or Internet) and set up a new Exchange ActiveSync account for each of two PC-based Outlook. Q: Can I sync a separate set of data with Galaxy S7 and another Android phone? A: Because you will have to sync each smartphone individually, you will be able to set up a different set of Outlook data ti sync with each smartphone.

If not, you can get a domain easily by clicking here ➜ https://websitelearners.com/get/domain Step 2: Enable Email Forwarding This will forward all the mails coming to your business email address to Gmail. To enable email forwarding, setup your workspace email. Then create a forward by clicking manage. Now, enter the business email that you want to create. For Example, you can enter something like [email protected], or [email protected] Then enter an existing gmail address to which you want to forward the mails to! Step 3: Create your Zoho-Mail Account What is Zoho and Why are we using it? Zoho is a free email service which handles the sending of emails from our domain. By using Zoho, we can avoid paying separately for our business email. To create a Zoho account: Go to http://zoho.com/mail and sign-up for the free plan. Step 4: Verify our domain. Continue the setup by choosing your DNS provider. Next, you need to enter the details shown in Zoho, to your Domain Provider’s DNS page. So just, go to Godaddy and then under domains, click Manage DNS. Then, add the details from Zoho. After adding it, click verify your domain and proceed with the setup. Skip to the SPF (Sender Policy Framework) page where you need to again enter the details to GoDaddy. Once you’re done, then again skip the pages till you reach the Mail Client Configuration. Step 5: Connect your Zoho account with Gmail Next, login to Gmail and then go to settings. Click Accounts & Import and then click add another email address. Now enter the new email address and also the “From” name that you want to use. Then, Gmail will ask you for server details, so you need to go back to Zoho and copy the details from the outgoing server and then paste it in the box. In the username field, enter the business email address and then enter the same password, that you used in Zoho. Now, use the confirmation code to verify your account. Okay! Now, the Zoho account has been connected to Gmail. Now, if you click compose and then click the arrow in the “From” field, you’ll see the new email address. Now, let’s set this as the default email address. To do that: Go back to settings and then to Accounts & Import. Next to your new email address, click make default. That’s it! This is how you can create a free business email id and use it with Gmail. ===== Creating more emails on your domain ===== Step 1: Create an Email Forward in GoDaddy Go to GoDaddy and under workspace email click manage. Then create a forward. Enter the email id’s that you want to create and then type the existing Gmail address to which you want to forward the incoming mails to! Step 2: Create a new user in Zoho Go to http://mail.zoho.com and then go to the control panel. You’ll then see a notice saying action required! Don’t worry about it, just continue by clicking okay! and go to user details to add a new user. Step 3: Add the email to the User’s Gmail account Login to Gmail and then go into settings and click Accounts & Import. Next to send email as click add another email address. Now, enter the “From” name and the same email address here and click next. Set the server details as smtp.zoho.com including the port as 465. Now, when you’re composing a mail, you can select the new email address by clicking the arrow in the From section. You can follow these 3 simple steps, for every new email address that you want to create. You can add up to 25 users for free on Zoho. ===== Creating a Group Email ===== Now, a group email helps you send an email to a group of people in your team with addresses like [email protected] or [email protected] Creating a group email is very simple: Just go to your GoDaddy account and click create forward.
