At the moment everyone’s on holiday, if they’re not on holiday, they’re going on holiday, they’re taking time off with the kids because it’s the Summer Holidays soon, so it’s really important to remember that at this time of year, trying to get things done is really hard. Telemarketing calls, things like that, they’re going to be slower because no one’s there. Networking events, there’s less people because people are going away, it’s only natural. So the best thing to do at this time of year is to use the extra time to sit and plan for September. What networking events are you going to go to? Get them booked in so that they don’t all book up without you. Who are you going to target? What companies are you going to target? How are you going to target them? Are you going to target them on Social Media? Are you going to do telemarketing calls? Plan this in advance, so that when September comes around you have a plan of action. It’s all clear. You’re not rushing around after your holidays going ‘Where am I?’ ‘Where am I?’! That’s really important. So, make the last quarter of the year the best quarter. As a director of a coworking space hustle co-work, I meet a lot of startups, and they always ask me how I manage my sales team and marketing team. When I say the sales team and marketing team do not align, that means they fight with each other. For Example - The marketing team always says, that we create so many leads and sales team are not taking follow-ups they are not doing the calls properly in proper time. The sales team always complain that the marketing team is not doing their work well. The leads marketing team is giving to us they are useless, they will not buy our product because they are not interested. When your team is fighting against each other, then your revenue will not go up it's always going down as your sales and marketing team are not working well. It is essential for every business to manage their team and train them in a way so, that they will never stand against each other. To align your marketing and sales team - Lead Qualification Matrix - To understand this step, first you have to understand what is buyer persona because it is the main thing through which you will know who is your target market, who is your customer and how to create a buyer persona. Persona is a fictional character which you made according to your customers. Like - you talk to a lot of peoples some are interested in your product, and some buy your product, so you create your persona and train your sales and marketing according to that. When your sales team know who is their actual buyer and who they need to pitch to buy their product, then your revenue and sales will grow. For Example - When we give our sales team the leads who are interested and who will go to buy our product, but they need some information, then your sales will not waste their time on worthless leads. In the lead qualification matrix there 4 steps - 1. The people who are not fit for our product. 2. The people who are showing interest in our product but they do not fit in our persona. 3. According to marketing, these peoples are perfect for our product. 4. These people are perfect for our product, and they are showing interest to buy our product, so these people are perfect for us. Business to consumer sales funnels aren’t usually as complex as business to business sales funnels. Service businesses usually require more research in their sales funnels and don’t always end in a sales transaction. What Does a Sales Funnel Look Like? At the widest point of your funnel, you have your target market. As you go down the tunnel to the narrowest spot, you have your paying customer. Inside that funnel are steps that occur that turn your target market into visitors, into prospects, into shoppers, into buyers, into paying customers. Step #1 Convert target customers into visitors – You’ll be able to do this well if you have taken the time to identify who your target market is. Use a keyword tool like Google AdWords. Once you know who your target market is make sure that your site is visible in directories, blogs, search engines, affiliate sites, etc. In this stage of your sales funnel, your goal is to identify the target market and send visitors to your site (store). Here are some marketing tools to help you achieve that goal. * Search engine optimization – SEO focuses on the keywords most likely to bring visitors to your site. * Social media – Make sure you have a visible social media presence. * Online advertising – This includes Amazon ads, PPC ads, banner ads on affiliate sites, etc. * Marketplaces - Sell on Buy.com, Overstock.com, Amazon, eBay, etc. * Blogs - Your blog needs to be compelling. The content needs to attract relevant traffic. * Comparison shopping engines – Provide support product feeds to Bing Shopping, Google Shopping, Nextag, etc. Step #2 Convert visitors to prospects – Once the visitors have made it to your landing page on your site; you need to engage them further. A prospect is defined as someone who browses at least three pages and bookmarks your site. Here are some factors you can use to turn visitors into prospects. * Site design – Create a design that is clean and easy to view. * Good navigation – Build a site that is easy to navigate and has a good site search. * Compelling content – Offer content that is both original and interesting. Keeping your images smaller will help. * Security and trust - Establish trust through memberships and testimonials, and by providing a detailed “about us” page that tells about the company. * Merchandising – It’s really important to offer promotions within your store. However, make sure that you are clear about what these promotions are. * Landing pages – Make sure your landing pages are tightly integrated with where your visitors are coming from and how they might search. * Signup points – Provide links that are easy to find for your email signup, your blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Step #3 Converting Prospects to Paying Customers You are now ready to get prospects to put one or more items in their shopping care. Here are some key elements you should have. * Chat and phone support – There should be a way for prospect to get immediate answer to their questions such as live chat. Email is too slow you will lose them. * Newsletters - Send a confirmation email to initial subscribers. Offer them choices about what they would like to get updates on. * Social media postings - Mix your posts up with instructions on new products, offers, how-to tips, surveys, images, etc. * FAQs - A section on frequently asked questions is very beneficial for those looking for immediate answers to their questions.
