How to be a Friend to Yourself

04:11
The person we may find it hardest to be kind and sympathetic to is, surprisingly, ourselves. Yet being a friend to ourselves provides the only viable basis for living an emotionally fulfilled life. A few comments aside, they should – to prove appealing – always ask the other about their lives or stick to impersonal topics found in newspapers, lest they be accused of that heinous charge: self-absorption…” You can read more on this and other subjects on our blog, here: https://goo.gl/9hTxYK MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/m98Lkx Watch more films on SELF in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLself Do you speak a different language to English? How To Love Yourself - How To Like Who You Are Right Now

19:18
How To Love Yourself - Stop the guilt and shame right now and start to be happy with who you are. The Ultimate Life Purpose Course - Create Your Dream Career: http://www.actualized.org/life-purpose-course Leo's Top 140 Self Help Books http://www.actualized.org/books Full Video Transcript Here: http://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-love-yourself Video Summary: Everyone dislikes some things about themselves, but hopefully not everything. Learning to love yourself is so much more empowering than micro-analyzing your flaws through a magnifying glass. Every flaw presents you with a choice: you can try to change it, or accept it as part of you. That doesn't mean that you should use character flaws as excuses not to grow, however. Learning to tell yourself at close range that you love and accept yourself just the way you are can help you see how unnecessarily critical you've been of yourself. You're so much more than a handful of flaws. Zoom your lens out to see yourself in a more accurate perspective. Self-acceptance and self-improvement are not opposing forces. Ideally, learn to love who you are right now, and then from that amazing position, work to improve yourself. Only from a position of loving yourself can you contribute your talents to the world. When you're happy from the inside out, you exude happiness and can better design your life.

Avoid Losing Yourself In Relationships

Coach Corey Wayne discusses how to avoid losing yourself in a relationship. Why most people slowly stop living their lives, taking care of their bodies, hanging out with their friends, focusing on their purpose, dreams and give up their hobbies, interests and passions in the mistaken belief that it will be good for the family or children. Alan Watts - Stop ACTING Like Yourself - Really BE Yourself !

13:01
Alan Wilson Watts (6 January 1915 – 16 November 1973) was a British-born philosopher, writer, and speaker, best known as an interpreter and populariser of Eastern philosophy for a Western audience. Born in Chislehurst, England, he moved to the United States in 1938 and began Zen training in New York. Pursuing a career, he attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, where he received a master's degree in theology. Watts became an Episcopal priest in 1945, then left the ministry in 1950 and moved to California, where he joined the faculty of the American Academy of Asian Studies. Watts gained a large following in the San Francisco Bay Area while working as a volunteer programmer at KPFA, a Pacifica Radio station in Berkeley. Watts wrote more than 25 books and articles on subjects important to Eastern and Western religion, introducing the then-burgeoning youth culture to The Way of Zen (1957), one of the first bestselling books on Buddhism. In Psychotherapy East and West (1961), Watts proposed that Buddhism could be thought of as a form of psychotherapy and not a religion. He also explored human consciousness, in the essay "The New Alchemy" (1958), and in the book The Joyous Cosmology (1962). Towards the end of his life, he divided his time between a houseboat in Sausalito and a cabin on Mount Tamalpais. His legacy has been kept alive by his son, Mark Watts, and many of his recorded talks and lectures are available on the Internet. According to the critic Erik Davis, his "writings and recorded talks still shimmer with a profound and galvanizing lucidity."

The True and the False Self

06:55
A good life is one in which we can dare to show our True Self and do not mind too much occasionally having to wear the mask of a False Self. But for this to be possible, we need a certain sort of childhood - as the masterful British psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott helped to explain in his theory of the true and the false self, outlined here. Because our caregivers were preoccupied or fragile, we had to be preternaturally attuned to their demands, sensing that we had to comply in order to be loved and tolerated; we had to be false before we had the chance to feel properly alive. And as a result, many years later, without quite understanding the process, we risk feeling unanchored, inwardly dead and somehow not entirely present…” You can read more on this and other subjects on our blog, here: https://bit.ly/2qEJiJZ MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Visit us in person at our London HQ: https://bit.ly/2HqFpTn Watch more films on SELF in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLself You can submit translations and transcripts on all of our videos here: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_panel?c=UC7IcJI8PUf5Z3zKxnZvTBog&tab=2 Find out how more here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6054623?hl=en-GB SOCIAL MEDIA Feel free to follow us at the links below: Download our App: https://bit.ly/2H4YtHd Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theschooloflifelondon/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheSchoolOfLife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theschooloflifelondon/ CREDITS Produced in collaboration with: Katherine Blanchin https://vimeo.com/katebalchin #TheSchoolOfLife

One of the most difficult things for marketeers is to build a brand because, from a customer's perspective... brands all look the same and do the same. But you... you represent your own brand: You are the genuine article, a unique specie, an authentic piece an amazing individuality. You are a marketeer's dream! Why not take advantage of this and be yourself? Don't try to be others, because they are already taken! Oscar Wilde once said "Be Yourself, Everyone else is already taken". If you want to reach the amazing things you've dreamed of, there's only one way to do it.. to be yourself! Being yourself is about stepping into your uniqueness, it's about being unafraid to express your individuality. You are one of a kind You need to express it, by being authentic and genuine. Once you can do it you'll become reliable, people will believe in you, because you represent character, quality and originality. Only you can write the way you write! Only you can sing the way you sing! Only you can play the way you play! Only you can work the way you work! Only you can dance the way you dance! Only you can paint the way you paint! Only you can create the way you create! Only you can love the way you love! 10 Mistakes That Make People Use You

08:40
Have you ever noticed that a good person isn't often well respected? Psychologists believe the reason is mistakes these people make in their behavior. Here’re the most common mistakes you probably do so that people don’t respect you and never listen to you. TIMESTAMPS Needless self-sacrifice 0:40 A lack of self-respect 1:30 Seeking approval from others 2:11 Thinking that the problem is only yourself 2:54 Showing off 3:43 A fear of rejection 4:23 Being deaf to your interests 5:09 You don’t limit what’s acceptable 6:00 A fear of loneliness 6:43 You believe you need to earn respect 7:33 SUMMARY - Don’t be afraid to tell the world about what you don’t like. Actually, it might cost people nothing to meet you halfway. Otherwise, your needless self-sacrifice won’t be noticed by anyone at all. - If someone behaves in a way that they don’t give a damn about you, it means they really don’t. Don’t look for excuses for rude people – they don’t deserve it. - You don’t need to be told you’re a good person to be one. Also, don’t be scared of criticism. People will criticize you all the time for anything you do, for one reason or another.  - There is no point in looking for someone to blame. Torturing yourself won’t bring you any love from others, but only pity.  - You can show you are worth something only by believing in yourself and being yourself. When you know your value, you don’t need to prove it to anyone. - Don’t be afraid to say "no." Even the nicest people in the world may try to use you if you allow them to. Help others only when you want to. - Learn to listen to your desires, and don’t be afraid of offending others. Normally, our fears don’t have a basis in reality, and it’s always possible to find a compromise. - You need to determine the limits of acceptable behavior, and don’t let others overstep these boundaries. People who agree to anything are not respected. - You don’t need to choose between your relationship and your self-worth. When others force you to make that choice, then something is going wrong. Be brave, and don’t be afraid of change. - You don’t need to "buy" love or respect. Learn to love and be loved unconditionally. Can you easily find a common language with others? How To Be Confident

A Wake Up Call To Yourself

27:41
The importance and essential nature of making a wake up call to yourself so you can take your power back if you have given it away, have sacrificed your needs, wants and desires for those of others, or if you have simply realized that you have always put the happiness of others above your own, but made yourself miserable in the process. In this video coaching newsletter, I discuss three different emails from three different viewers. The first email is from a female viewer who shares how my work has changed her life and helped her to walk away from an unhealthy relationship where she allowed herself to be treated like a doormat. She has learned to focus on loving and taking care of herself first, and dumping an emotionally unavailable guy she was trying to change. The second email is from a woman who talks about the confusing mainstream dating advice of women’s magazines and how what I teach is true, natural to her feminine essence and helps her to understand men better so she can make better choices. The third email is from a man who finally took his power back in his failing thirteen-year marriage. His wife was cheating on him and totally disrespecting him. He shares how he has used what he has learned from my work to turn things around, have an open marriage and cause his wife to come crawling back. “In order to give love to others, you must first have it for yourself. If you are in a state of lack or feel like you do not measure up, then you won’t be able to sustain a relationship for very long, because you don’t feel love for yourself. In order to be a good relationship partner, you must learn to think, feel and know that you are valuable. We tend to act consistently with how we view ourselves to be. When we have a low opinion of ourselves, we unknowingly attract people, who will take advantage of us, use us and not love us. We literally attract what we believe about ourselves. It’s always best to first focus on becoming our best selves, self-reliant, having a compelling purpose and mission in life and making ourselves happy, before we can become a true equal and attract a high quality person who will love us unconditionally.” ~ Coach Corey Wayne Click the link below to make a donation via PayPal to support my work: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=LKGTSSLYJ93J6 Click the link below to book phone/Skype or email coaching with me personally: http://www.understandingrelationships.com/products Click the link below to get my Kindle eBook: http://amzn.to/1Uh5djJ Click the link below to read my FREE self-help articles: http://www.understandingrelationships.com/ From my heart to yours, Corey Wayne

10 Signs You’re Way More Intelligent Than You Realize

10:47
You are way more intelligent than you realize! Here's a list of signs that actually indicate a super bright mind. They are all scientifically proved, so if you feel like a few of them are true for you, you have every reason to call yourself a genius! TIMESTAMPS You realize how much you don’t know 0:48 You wear the same clothes every day 2:00 You can feel what others are thinking 3:01 You can perfectly control yourself 3:50 Your eyes are blue 4:53 You are a chocolate lover 5:54 When you’re upset, you know what’s bothering you 6:56 You talk to yourself 7:47 You can’t stand any background noise 8:35 Your handwriting is messy 9:21 SUMMARY - Justin Kruger and David Dunning worked with a group of Cornell University undergrads and published the results of their research in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology in 1999. They asked students to predict their scores after being tested in Humor, Logical reasoning and English Grammar. Those who were 100% sure they did outstandingly well ended up with worse results than those who were more critical of themselves. - Psychologist Oliver Burkeman has done some serious research on the lifestyle of the brightest minds in the world. He concluded that smart people tend to save up their mental abilities for more important things. Unless those smart people are fashion designers or Lady Gaga, of course. - Empathy is a sign of exceptional mental intelligence. If you are emotionally intelligent, you love meeting new people and learning new things. According to psychologist and author of Focus: The Hidden Drivers of Excellence Daniel Goleman, people who care a lot about others and can feel them well, generally, succeed in life. - The ability to control instincts is what we know distinguishes humans from animals. Genius people went even further: they manage to overcome and control any impulses they have. If you can plan and achieve goals without being distracted by emotions you are more intelligent than you might imagine. - Professor emeritus of the University of Louisville Joanne Rowe has concluded light-eyed humans, and even animals are way better at activities requiring self-pacing than the dark-eyed creatures. The fact that you are better at self-paced activities means that you like paying attention to every detail. - M.D. Franz H. Messerli, who is most likely a chocolate lover himself, published the results of his study in The New England Journal of Medicine. He tried to link genius (Noble prize winner kind of genius) per ten million people with the amount of chocolate consumed in certain countries. And he found it. - Genius people don’t stick to the past. And, they don’t blame everyone and everything around for their sadness. Psychologist Daniel Goleman explains a real genius does not only address problems but also recognizes emotions when he feels them, and not ignores them. - Psychologists Daniel Swigley and Gary Lupyan conducted a whole study on it. The good self-talk, according to them, helps us sort the important thoughts from useless stuff going through our minds. - A study conducted at the Northwestern University has stated that a genius hates any kind of background noise because it prevents him from concentrating on important issues. - Next time someone criticizes your handwriting, simply nod, say “I am sorry you don’t get it” and triumph on the inside. Messy writing is one of the signs of a genius! Did you recognize any of these signs in yourself, or maybe you are now positive your best friend is a genius? 10 Problems All Extroverts Can Relate To

10:05
There are 2 types of people in the world: extroverts and introverts. The latter get a lot of attention online and often become the object of jokes and memes. Extroverts, on the contrary, are believed to have no problems at all. But life isn’t simple for them either. And if you’re an extrovert, you’ll surely recognize yourself in this video. Stay strong! You are not alone on this journey! TIMESTAMPS: They crave the company of others 1:09 They overshare with random people 2:18 They have the reputation of being “too needy” 3:30 They feel stereotyped as unintellectual 4:28 They get too excited about things 5:18 Others expect them to be amazingly self-confident 6:02 It seems like they’re constantly flirting 6:48 They can have trouble controlling their word stream 7:25 They feel like they're burning out but still can't stop 8:03 Extroverts aren’t allowed to be sad 8:47 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - Extroverts have their alone moments (you can’t avoid those altogether), but they quickly realize they have to get out and be around people to overcome their fear of being alone. - While oversharing with a person you’re unlikely to meet again might be harmless, saying too much to your colleague could actually cause you trouble in the future, especially if you say something less than nice about your boss. - They feel extremely sad when no one is ready to share their hype with them. It gets even worse when plans to go out get canceled. They get really upset and feel that a night is wasted when not used to socialize. - Extroverts are seen as loud party animals who rarely sit down with a book. Yes, they love to party and aren’t afraid to express their emotions and laugh out loud in public, but this doesn’t make extroverts unintellectual. - Just as extroverts have little control over their desire to talk to people, they can have a hard time controlling their emotions. Things that seem routine to others could be an excitement trigger for them. - Be it your grandma’s birthday, your cousin’s wedding, or your boss’s retirement, people will always expect you to be able to give a speech or entertain everyone else because you’re an extrovert and “shy” isn’t even in your dictionary. - It’s no big deal for an extrovert to approach just about anyone and initiate a conversation with them. But this is often where it ends for them. - With so many emotions raging inside them, extroverts rarely stop and think before they speak. They loudly and confidently start a sentence they have no idea how to finish. - As socially oriented as they are, extroverts are still people who can get tired of the company of others. Still, they won’t admit it to themselves and will suffer through an uninteresting conversation or hang out at a boring party. - Being an extrovert isn’t only a psychological type — it’s a full-time social job with certain obligations. The first and most important job is to be smiling radiantly and making others laugh. When you don’t feel like doing this, people are shocked. How to Be Charming When Talking About Yourself

03:53
It’s sometimes assumed that talking too much about ourselves is rude; and asking questions of others is polite and charming. But the distinction is not quite so simple. There are far better and worse ways of speaking about ourselves. We end up charming when we dare to reveal our vulnerabilities to others. A few comments aside, they should – to prove appealing – always ask the other about their lives or stick to impersonal topics found in newspapers, lest they be accused of that heinous charge: self-absorption. But this rule fails to distinguish between different ways of talking about oneself. There are, as well-mannered people sometimes forget, better and worse ways to share details of one’s life. It is not the amount that one talks that should determine the issue; only how one does so…” You can read more on this and other subjects on our blog, here: https://goo.gl/eNzT6a MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/aXbgts Watch more films on RELATIONSHIPS in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLrelationships You can submit translations and transcripts on all of our videos here: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_panel?c=UC7IcJI8PUf5Z3zKxnZvTBog&tab=2 Find out how more here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6054623?hl=en-GB SOCIAL MEDIA Feel free to follow us at the links below: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theschooloflifelondon/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheSchoolOfLife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theschooloflifelondon/ CREDITS Produced in collaboration with: Andrew Foerster http://www.rewfoe.com/ #TheSchoolOfLife

How To Attract Beautiful Girls - Ft. Shogo Garcia

29:44
► Shogo's AMAZING Article: http://www.thesocialgeneration.com/illusion-physical-beauty/ So how to attract beautiful girls? Treat everyone equally. The golden rule. Kind of funny how all religions / spiritual practices talk about this. People have a natural tendency to judge other people. And the more we judge, the more we see people for what "value" they have or what they can offer us. Hence- we start judging ourselves more and stop being ourselves because we subconsciously see ourselves as a value we can offer others. And then we subconsciously always want to "prove" ourselves to people we see as high value. (A hot girl, a famous person, popular person, rich person who could be a business partner, etc.) And when we are trying to prove ourselves to others, we won't be our most attractive self because we'll have an internal layer of "I'm not good enough" thinking. Most dating advice out there is ways to improve your value. "Do _______, or start acting like ________, or say _________ and girls will like you". All this stuff is advice to "raise" your "value". The more you think you have to raise your value, the more you confirm that "illusionary ladder", the more you judge yourself, and the more subconsciously you won't think you are "good enough". When you start treating everyone equally.. Treat everyone as yourself- you stop judging people for what value they have and start being yourself. You see everyone on the same level. The level of infinite worth. And once you start seeing people on the same level, and seeing their INFINITE worth & spirit, you'll start to see YOUR infinite worth. And then you'll stop judging yourself.. And when you stop judging yourself, that's when you'll be able to genuinely connect with people because you are not looking to get anything out of them or comparing values. Not looking for a validation from a girl, not looking for their approval, not looking for anything, etc. Not thinking if you're "good enough", not thinking if "she thinks your cool", etc. You're anxiety will go away because you no longer have to prove yourself. And because you won't be worrying about the approval of others, you'll start to have more energy to naturally become more of your naturally best self. You'll also treat everyone else well and genuinely care for everyone's best interest at heart- which will give you the best personality FOR YOU. This mindset will give you a contagiously attractive personality. You will have an out-flow of energy- always giving socially to others & genuinely wanting happiness for everyone. People will also trust you because you treat everyone as yourself giving you a great reputation & not to mention you'll develop lots of self-love & self-respect. So when going to venues, talk to everyone! Be friendly with everyone and treat everyone equally. Don't just talk to girls you find attractive. However, you do have preferences. But rather than trying to get something out of those preferences, you'll be attracted to those preferences naturally and be able to connect with what you prefer in a genuine way. You'll appreciate what you prefer and see yourself as worthy. (rather than trying to impress what you prefer) Lots of these ideas I'm guessing will go over lots of people's heads. It's a counter-intuitive idea compared to what other dating advice websites talk about. This idea is an entirely new paradigm which can DRAMATICALLY impact your life. For some of you this idea is going to REALLY "click" and REALLY REALLY change your life / social interactions in an amazing way. This is a LIFE CHANGING paradigm shift. :) "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you." -- Jesus BTW, this vid isn't really to attract "hot" girls. It's about attracting the girl that is best FOR YOU. Girls you "connect" and have the best chemistry with. etc. ► Shogo's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/ShogoGarcia ► SUBSCRIBE!: http://www.youtube.com/user/GoldJacketLuke?sub_confirmation=1 **UPDATE: Here's a newer video I did on the same topic: "When You Judge Others, You Are Subconsciously Judging Yourself": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVd-eV2RH6A (shorter vid, but summarizes the main points of this video very well) Checkout IMAGINARY MEN -- Listen to deeply honest and surprisingly powerful lessons about personal growth, social anxiety, women, & relationships: http://www.goldjacketluke.com/imaginarymen :) (Shogo is in this program) Vid I did on Oneness: http://youtu.be/tBfyRoozn9Q This vid is basically intricately explaining why & how to stop putting pussy on the pedestal lol. TIMESTAMPS: Mole on the forehead 0:49 Mole in or near the eyebrows 1:42 Mole on the nose 2:25 Mole on the cheek 3:14 Mole on the lips 4:02 Mole on the chin 4:50 Mole on the ears 5:32 Mole on the neck 6:18 Mole on the shoulder 7:09 Mole on the fingers 7:52 Mole on the arms 10:29 Mole on the breasts 11:09 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - Chinese astrology thinks of a mole on the forehead as a sign of prosperity. However, it also has an additional meaning, depending on the mole's exact position. - Moles in the eyebrow can be found very rarely. But if you have one, you can be proud of its meaning. It's a symbol of your intelligence, creativity, and artistry. - A mole on the nose often indicates a person with major self-respect who's not afraid of hard work. In some situations and circumstances, these people can have quite a big ego. - If you see a person with a mole on their cheek (or you have one yourself), you can be sure that it represents an introverted and sincere person. - If your mole is on the right or left corner of your upper lip, it indicates your desire to get the best from life. A mole on your lower lip is a sign that your children will be highly successful at what they do. - People with moles on their chins are affectionate, caring, stubborn, and determined. They are realists and are usually ready for every outcome when trying something new. - If you have a mole on your ear, it's a sign that you have an outstanding personality. You're trustworthy, loyal, and have a good and kind heart. A mole on your earlobe, in its turn, is the sign of a prominent, prosperous, and rich life. - A mole on the neck can indicate that you have a strong but very lovable personality. You can easily attract people by just being yourself. - A mole on the shoulder highlights responsibility in your character. You aren't afraid of a task and can handle any challenge coming your way. - In this case, everything depends on the finger and, more specifically, the part of this finger. - Moles on the arms often represent a decisive and well-rounded person. You aren't afraid to make a mistake; you're afraid of missing the opportunity. - Chinese astrology considers the breasts to be a symbol of power, so a mole on this body part suggests a successful career and quick recognition for all your hard work. How To Stop Being So Hard On Yourself

04:00
Many of us grow up learning that we need to keep pushing forward, at all times and at all costs. But when do we recognize that we need a break and let ourselves be okay with that? In the pursuit of success and our dreams many of us fail to listen to our bodies and minds and allow ourselves a much needed timeout from all that we are doing. Check out my website for articles &tips. www.shannonmiller.me/articles 1. Stop comparing yourself to others Have you ever really met the Jones's? Me neither and if you did I am not too sure you would want to be friends with them anyway. Someone will always have more or less stuff, knowledge or time than do you. Comparing yourself to others is a sure fire way to add more stress to your life. It is the first ingredient in being hard on yourself. Don't do it. 2. Say NO to tasks that are not vital Your plates is full so saying no to tasks that are not vital can lighten your load and remove some stress. It will give you the ability to complete what matters most leaving you with a sense of accomplishment. 3. Allow yourself downtime Take a nap, get outside to enjoy the sunshine, pick up a book or dive into a hobby that you haven't let yourself enjoy in a while. You work hard and you deserve time to enjoy life, give yourself permission and make it a priority. 4. Disconnect from technology Put down your cell phone, walk away from Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Give yourself at least one full day a month (a week would be ideal but let's start small) disconnecting from these constant sources of noise. Allow your head to have some calm and clarity without the streams of activity and action flooding your weary mind. Why Superpowers Might Be Dangerous to Have

10:01
The idea of gaining superpowers has always been appealing. Finding a way out of your ordinary boring life and making yourself into something extraordinary is a secret fantasy we’ve all played in our head a least once. But there’s two sides to every coin, and having superpowers isn’t as awesome as you read about in comic books and see in superhero movies. If you wanna know why you really don’t want these superhuman abilities, watch our new video. TIMESTAMPS: What if you were invisible 1:29 What if you had superhuman strength 5:21 How about super speed? 6:27 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - You’d be invisible to everyone else, but everyone else would also be invisible to you! To get around that problem, you’d have to make a lot more photons go into your eyes than they normally do, and all those light particles being in your eyes would actually make them glow. - Being invisible takes away visual information. Walking up and down the stairs in the dark is scary because we can’t see the stairs, but it’s still possible because the proprioceptors in your body know where your limbs are. - If you measure super strength by your ability to punch through a concrete wall, then you’d have to generate about 25,000 Newtons of force, which is about 100 times more than the average person. - The real problem comes with the level of acceleration it would take for you to reach the speeds these superheroes do. - You’d need to have other superpowers to protect you from the effects of instantaneous acceleration because, otherwise, your legs would snap right in half as soon as you tried it! - It’s not just your body that wouldn’t be able to deal with so much acceleration at once; your brain isn’t equipped to handle it either. He considered Nature, Man and Woman (1958) to be, "from a literary point of view—the best book I have ever written." He also explored human consciousness, in the essay "The New Alchemy" (1958), and in the book The Joyous Cosmology (1962). Towards the end of his life, he divided his time between a houseboat in Sausalito and a cabin on Mount Tamalpais. Many of his books are now available in digital format and many of his recorded talks and lectures are available on the Internet. According to the critic Erik Davis, his "writings and recorded talks still shimmer with a profound and galvanizing lucidity. ====================================================== ©⚠★ Copyright Disclaimer ★⚠© Title 17, US Code (Sections 107-118 of the copyright law, Act 1976), All media in this video is used for purposes such as criticism, commenting, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Most of us adore beach resorts and go to one of the large saltwater bodies at least once a year. However, we shouldn’t forget that the sea is as attractive as it is wayward. Essential guide to self acceptance: Accepting yourself in 3 steps | Merima Dervović | TEDxUWCMostar

19:35
Merima Dervović, a wheelchair user born with spina bifida, explains her path to self acceptance. Being what she calls a ‘professional’ disabled person has required her to learn to love herself through courage and compassion. Here is how you can do the same. Born in 1991 in Sarajevo, raised in Italy. Returned in my homeland in 1997. Educated in the Faculty of philosphy in Sarajevo, where I finished Art history and Italian language and literature. In the past years I became involved with human right activism, advocating a better quality of life and inclusion for disabled people. Trough magazine articles, a short documentary and trough various projects I'm trying to contribute in making a change in society. Apart from that, my huge passion is painting and already had various art exhibitions. I'm currently living in Sarajevo where I'm finishing my Master's degree in Italian language and literature.
