Where Do We Get Oil From? - Geography for Kids | Educational Videos by Mocomi
http://mocomi.com/ presents: Where do we get oil from? The Earth’s surface, millions of years ago, was covered with more water than what it has today and living in this were billions of tiny plants and animals. When these plants and animals died, they fell to the ocean floor and piled up. Sand from eroding rocks and mud covered them up. These layers of sand and mud were heavy and this weight turned them into sedimentary rocks. Heat from the earth and the weight of the rocks caused the dead plants and animals to compress into oil. Once the oil is formed, it slowly moves up through pores in the rocks. However in some cases, rocks without any pores leaves oil trapped underground. Oil is found in different parts of the world. The places where oil is extracted are called oil fields. More than half of the world’s oil is produced in the Middle East. To get to the oil, a company must first drill down to it. A rig is set up to support the drill. Then a well is drilled into the ground until the oil is reached. If the oilfield is in the sea, then offshore rigs are used. Watch this interesting video on how oil is formed from fossils which are compressed under the ocean floor. Oil Drilling | Oil & Gas Animations
- Like our Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oilvips - Geologists and geophysicists have agreed on the existence of a "prospect", a potential field. In order to find out if hydrocarbons are indeed trapped in the reservoir rock, we must drill to hit them. Bearing in mind the knowledge acquired about the substratum and the topography of the land, the best position for the installation of the drilling equipment is determined. Generally it is vertically above the point of maximum thickness of the geological layer suspected of containing hydrocarbons. The drillers then make a hole in conditions that are sometimes difficult. Of small diameter (from 20 to 50 cm) this hole will generally go down to a depth of between 2000 and 4000 meters. Exceptionally, certain wells exceed 6000 m. One of them has even exceeded 11 000 m! Certain fields can be buried at a depth equivalent to the height of 12 Eiffel Towers ... The derrick is the visible part of the drilling rig. It is a metal tower several tens of meters high. It is used to vertically introduce the drill strings down the hole. These drill strings are made up of metallic tubes screwed end to end. They transmit a rotating movement (rotary drilling) to the drilling tool (the drill bit) and help circulate a liquid called "mud" (because of its appearance) down to the bottom of the well. The drilling rig works like an enormous electric hand-drill of which the derrick would be the body, the drill strings the drive and the drilling tool the drill bit. The most usual tool is an assembly of three cones -- from which comes the name "tri cone" -- in very hard steel, which crushes the rock. Sometimes when the rock being drilled is very resistant, a single- block tool encrusted with diamonds is used. This wears down the rock by abrasion. Through the drill pipes, at the extremity of which the drill bit rotates, a special mud is injected, which the mud engineer prepares and controls. This mud cools the drill bit and consolidates the sides of the borehole. Moreover it avoids a gushing of oil, gas or water from the layer being drilled, by equilibrating the pressure. Finally, the mud cleans the bottom of the well. As it makes its way along the pipes, it carries the rock fragments (cuttings) to the surface. The geologist examines these cuttings to discover the characteristics of the rocks being drilled and to detect eventual shows of hydrocarbons. The cuttings, fragments of rock crushed by the drill bit, are brought back up to the surface by the mud. To obtain information on the characteristics of the rock being drilled, a core sample is taken. The drill bit is replaced by a hollow tool called a core sampler, which extracts a cylindrical sample of several meters of rock. This core supplies data on the nature of the rock, the inclination of the layers, the structure, permeability, porosity, fluid content and the fossils present. After having drilled a few hundred of meters, the explorers and drillers undertake measurements down the hole called loggings, by lowering electronic tools into the well to measure the physical parameters of the rock being drilled. These measures validate, or invalidate, or make more precise the hypotheses put forward earlier about the rocks and the fluids that they contain. The log engineer is responsible for the analysis of the results of the various loggings. The sides of the well are then reinforced by steel tubes screwed end to end. These tubes (called casings) are cemented into the ground. They isolate the various layers encountered. When hydrocarbons are found, and if the pressure is sufficient to allow them come to the surface naturally, the drillers do a flow check. The oil is allowed to come to the surface during several hours or several days through a calibrated hole. The quantity recovered is measured, as are the changes in pressure at the bottom of the well. In this way, a little more knowledge is gained about the probable productivity of the field. If the field seems promising, the exploration team ends the first discovery well and goes on to drill a second, even several others, several hundred or thousand meters further away. In this way, the exploration team is able to refine its knowledge about the characteristics of the field. The decision to stop drilling is made only when all these appraisal wells have provided sufficient information either to give up the exploration or to envisage future production. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like our Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oilvips Twitter: https://twitter.com/oilvips And Don't forget to subscribe to our channel

Lets discuss about today's topic. You may know, In the presence of Indian Prime Minister Modi, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has signed a deal to award 10 percent share of the Lower Zakum oil field to a group of Indian companies. As per this concession agreement, Now Indian companies can pump crude oil from lower Zakum field for next 40 years. For this stake purchase, India has to pay 600 Million Dollars upfront. While financial details of this deal are still awaited. But as far as we understand from Concession agreement, While United Arab Emirates continue to own the land and its resources including crude oil. But Now Indian companies have been granted ownership to discover the oil on that piece of land and if they find oil, they will own it. Besides what India has spent to purchase the stake, Indian companies will have to pay tax and royalty. Having been in the production since the year 1963, Lower Zakum is proven oil field. Hence, Minimal risk is involved in this stake purchase. With this concession agreement, for the first time, India is progressing from being a buyer of gulf oil to Investing in the Gulf oil and gas sector. In this investment, The risk is involved so is reward. In the next 20 years, Indian oil consumption is going to be more than double. In order to meet such a rapid rise, we can no longer remain just a buyer of crude oil. Moreover, Right now United Arab Emirates is supplying 8 percent of total oil India is importing. With this deal, United Arab Emirates will be able to boost its oil production and tap the rapidly growing Indian market demand. While oil prices are low, its very good time to secure long term concession agreement to ensure reliable oil supply to meet future Indian oil needs. Though India is focusing on renewable energy sources, but given the rapidly growing Indian energy demand, we must have multiple sources of energy. Securing cheap long term supply of crude oil is a strategic decision. we should all welcome it. Moreover Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is also supplying around 6 million barrels of oil, for Indian strategic oil reserve in Mangalore, ensuring Indian energy security. As you can see, With these two deals, The transactional relationship in between United Arab Emirates and India has transformed into strategic relationship. As per your views, Should India not have taken risk to buy 10% stake of Lower Zakum oil field. Please let us know your views in comment section below. Please find the reference links of this video in the description box below. Thank you friends.

No Oil -- Not Even Olive Oil! - Caldwell Esselstyn MD | Avoid ALL oil.
Many of us love all things Italian, from Ferraris to olive oil – especially olive oil. And the olive oil industry and media spur us on with articles asserting that olive oil nutrition is tops, and that olive oil is a "good" fat. The problem, though, is that many journalists do not fully dissect the scientific studies they’re reporting on. Press releases aren’t questioned. Facts get distorted. Qualifiers disappear. Headlines turn sensational. And so does the truth.-- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- but the truth really is - the fats you eat are the fats you wear and there is nothing attractive about wearing olive oil or coconut oil Other adverse effects of consuming oils include: unbalanced Omega 3 to 6 ratio, diabetes and immune system suppression. Whether it is olive oil, coconut oil, flax seed oil, heat treated or cold pressed/raw oil, oils do not promote health in any shape or form. every gram of fat even olive oil is 9 calories per gram , every gram of meat and dairy = 4 calories / gm and starches are only 1 calorie per gm veggies are 40 times as caloric dilute than oil , any oil , even olive oil . how can oil make you lose weight ? all oils are the most caloricaly dense and nutritionally bereft food ...on this planet 100g of olive oil contains 14mg of vitamin E and 62mcg of vitamin K which means about 7 tbsp. of olive oil provides 93 percent of the daily recommended allowance, or RDA, of vitamin E and 59 percent of the RDA for vitamin K. Olive oil contains small amounts of the minerals iron, calcium, potassium and sodium. mind you 7 tbsp is a lot of oil as well as a whopping 833 calories and we dont consume olive oil for vitamin e or k . _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Myth - "Olive oil is especially heart–healthy because it's rich in polyphenols and plant sterols" polyphenols, a type of antioxidant that helps protect your cells from damage. Certain polyphenols also have anti-inflammatory properties. How do plant sterols work? Plant sterols are compounds that help block your body from absorbing cholesterol. While plant sterols help lower LDL cholesterol, they don't appear to affect your levels of HDL cholesterol or triglycerides. A mere tablespoon of olive oil delivers a hefty 120 calories for a mere 30mg of polyphenols/plant sterols. By contrast, just 11 calories of green leafy lettuce gets you about the same amount of polyphenols/plant sterols. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me seperate FAT from FICTION to meet your Omega 3 needs from Olive oil alone, you need to consume 8 ounces of Olive OIl , which is 1900 calories and 42 gms of saturated fat . The bitter truth is that, as Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn points out, “Between 14 and 17 percent of olive oil is saturated, artery-clogging fat—every bit as aggressive in promoting heart disease as the saturated fat in roast beef. 2 tablespoon of Olive oil has 3 times(3x) more saturated fat than 4 ounces of white meat chicken and same as 4 Ounces of Lean Beef Olive oil has been touted as being heart healthy due to its essential fatty acid content, yet it has a poor ratio of omega 6 to omega 3. The goal is to have a 4:1 ratio, yet olive oil is 14:1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hype: The Mediterranean diet is a heart–healthy diet, and it’s rich in olive oil, so olive oil must be heart-healthy and the key to a longer life. Truth: The people on earth with the longest life expectancy and the least heart disease do not eat diets rich in olive oil or any other fat. They do eat a diet rich in whole, natural foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ While olive oil may be less bad than saturated fats and trans fats at least in terms of its impact on blood lipids, that hardly makes it a 'good' or 'healthy' addition to your diet." _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ No Oil -- Not Even Olive Oil! - Caldwell Esselstyn MD i have shown the same on my tube channel in several vidoes with the same name Mohit Manuja of http://Qualitylessons.net

USA steals Russia's oil and gas leader status
The United States has left Russia and Saudi Arabia behind in oil production. This has happened for the first time in 40 years, BP said in its yearly report. In 2014, the daily rate of production of "black gold" in the United States increased by more than 15%. Since the beginning of the current decade, the overall performance of the US oil production has grown by almost 50%.    Vyacheslav Kulagin, Director of the Energy Research Institute at Russian Academy of Sciences "It goes about the statistics from 2014. Accordingly, if you look at the statistics for 2015, the dynamics will be different. It has been announced recently that it is Russia that comes first in the world. In general, this is a story of Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States alternating themselves as the leaders. About five years ago, the United States was seriously behind Russia and Saudi Arabia in terms of oil production. Today, the USA has increased production considerably. There are two factors that benefited to that: high oil prices that attracted good investment in project development and advanced technology in the field of non-traditional production."          The US has taken advantage of its competitors in the field of gas production. In Russia, the figures have fallen by 4% . Speech to Alberta Oil and Gas Companies
I did find a couple of web sites that one might say are media engines about Alberta's oil and gas sector. But how many Albertans have even heard of them? I found a site called 'Alberta Oil.' Here is a link to one of its recent articles; it's about the election of Justin Trudeau: http://www.albertaoilmagazine.com/2015/10/keep-calm-and-keep-carrying-on/ That article from Alberta Oil is called 'Keep Calm and Keep Carrying On.' It should be called 'Keep Your Head in the Sand and Go in Denial Mode.' The article (written by a Liberal) suggests that Trudeau will be better for Alberta's energy sector than Harper was. That is the kind of cowering stance that Trudeau is going to knock you down with, oil boys! The other Canadian oil and gas site that I found is called 'Oilweek.' Here is a link to its article on our new socialist premier: http://www.oilweek.com/index.php/oil-and-gas-news/government/643-royalty-soup Oilweek obligates you to sign in in order to read the article. How many Albertans are going to bother with that? You see? This bit of research just confirms what I said in my speech. Alberta's oil and gas sector needs to get itself an accessible media tool that's not ashamed of its extraction of natural resources, a media apparatus that will engage and motivate Albertans. Capitalism suffers entropy as soon we begin to be shamefaced about it. For a transcript of my speech, go here: http://www.thebibleandthenews.com/2015/10/speech-to-alberta-oil-and-gas-companies.html
PaRR looks into regulation in the physical oil and gas market
Whistleblowing is not for the faint hearted. But as Oliver Adelman Editor of the Policy and Regulatory Report writes in one of his articles, it does propel things to a greater extent than initially expected. Allegations about price manipulation in the UK's gas markets by an industry whistleblower could lead to further investigations into price manipulation in the UK's energy markets. HeatingOil.com Profiles: Hart Petroleum
HeatingOil.com Profiles: Hart Petroleum For the second installment of our Profiles series, we are pleased to introduce you to Hart Petroleum of New Hyde Park, Long Island, New York. Hart Petroleum and its President, Ray Hart, stand out in the heating oil industry as one of a handful of pioneers in the adoption of biofuel as a component of home heating oil. The use of biofuel is rapidly expanding in the heating oil industry—a trend that HeatingOil.com has been covering since its launch seven months ago http://www.heatingoil.com/category/blog/biofuels/—and many influential figures have referred to it as no less than the future of the industry http://www.heatingoil.com/articles/heating-oil/heating-oil-industry-movers-icpa-president-gene-guilford1019/. Hart Petroleum not only sells Bioheat (a blend of biofuel and traditional, petroleum-based no. 2 fuel oil) to wholesale and retail customers, but also purchases biofuel feedstock and performs the sophisticated blending process on-site. This video is not only a profile of a respected and successful heating oil dealer, but also a fascinating glimpse at the evolution of the heating oil industry into a provider of cleaner, greener heating fuel. Art talks about the oil market being range bound and how because of increased supply from Libya, Nigeria, Iran, Iraq and US shale oil producers oil is struggling to stay above $50/barrel. Jason also asks Art about if US shale and Permian Basin oil producers are really profitable at current oil prices? Art says, there's a huge decline in conventional oil field capex and that US shale producers are "money takers not money makers." Art thinks US shale producers intentionally understate their real cost of production to retail investors by more than 80%! Even at $100/barrel oil, shale producers couldn't generate free cash flow. News media in President Obama's camp
At one time the bias news media in the USA use to masquerade their Democratic Party bias as news. That masquerade no longer exists as the news media has abandoned their constitutional mandate. The make no attempt to hide their loyalty to the Democratic Party and their candidates. Can you say "journalistic malfeasance?" The New York Times publishes an article ascribing blame for the poor economy in the United States of America -- USA to China and the financial crises in Europe. Huh? Meaning President Obama should not be held accountable for the poor economy. Then how come President Obama is taking for what he thinks is an improving economy? The New York Times hid from the fact the looming regulations, fees, and taxes to hit the USA in 2013 are a major reason for a hiring freeze. The USA is burdened with the highest corporate tax rate in the world, another factor in a stalled economy. The Associated Press -- AP released an article defending the EPA -- Environmental Protection Agency, claiming rules from the EPA under President Obama have not stifled oil and gas exploration / extraction. - Really? Okay perhaps the EPA has not hindered the oil and gas industry, but guess what? It was President Obama himself to put a moratorium on off-shore oil exploration and it was President Obama himself to halted the Keystone Pipeline. Mr. Obama did not need the EPA for that as he did the damage himself. Also the article ignored the EPA's attack on coal mining and coal-fired electric plants. Around 47% of electricity produced in the USA comes from coal. It is the EPA causing mining operations to stop and coal-fired electric plants to close. Of course this was ignored in the AP article. It is humorous to note subsequent to the above EPA cover article, The New York Times prints an article about how the coal industry is fighting for their survival. Apparently the bias news media needs to improve their coordination of articles. - The news media is in full protection mode for this president in a desperate attempt to get him re-elected. Had we had a news media that was not biased, performed its constitutional mandate President Obama would not have been elected in 2008. - Article about President Obma's hands tied on economy: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/03/us/politics/obamas-hands-tied-on-weak-economy.html?pagewanted=all Article about EPA concerning oil and gas: http://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2012/05/30/fact-check-oil-stats-belie-tough-enforcement-talk Article about the coal industry under siege by the government: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/30/business/energy-environment/even-in-kentucky-coal-industry-is-under-siege.html Link to Texas Daddy store: http://texas-daddy.shop-pro.jp/ News media bias Democratic Party DNC President Obama protected constitutional malfeasance constitutional mandate The New York Times NYT Associated Press AP news media propaganda 2008 election Presidential election bias reporting vlog propagandabuster propaganda buster Texas Daddy Tony
