The Richest Man in the World Jeff Bezos $100-billion
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/27/billionaire-jeff-bezos-what-amazon-was-like-in-1999.html The Richest Man in the World Jeff Bezos Amazon Owner Jeff Bezos net worth as Amazon founder and richest man in the world. https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/profiles/jeffrey-p-bezos/ Jeff Bezos had a lot to be grateful for this Thanksgiving weekend. After record-breaking weekend sales, Amazon's stock price hit an all-time high of $1,213.41 a share on Monday. That pushed Bezos' net worth to over $100 billion, which is up 35% from the same period last year, according to Bloomberg. Thanks to that recent surge, Bezos has once again passed Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates as the richest person in the world, as we can see in this chart from Statista, which is based on data from the Bloomberg Billionaires index. That list is dominated by American tech titans, many of whom have committed to giving away a significant portion of their wealth to charity. Bezos stands out not only because he tops the list, but because he's made no such commitment. Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 1994 and since his humble beginnings trading out of his garage he has been in a race to the top of the billionaires index. The 53-year-old is named alongside Warren Buffet and Bill Gates where he sits as numero uno in the world of wealth. It is no surprise that online retail mammoth of Amazon has propelled its founder to top spot. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index Jeff Bezos is the first person to pass the $100 billion (£74.9 billion) mark, making him the richest man in the world. His mates at the top of the list include Microsoft owner Bill Gates, investor Warren Buffet, Zara owner Amancio Ortega and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Bezos is the founder and the largest shareholder of Amazon. In 2016, the Seattle based company had a revenue of $136 billion (£101 billion). Bezos clocked in on the billionaires list in 2012 when he was worth $21 billion (£15.7 billion). His wealth is entirely self-made and he was an early investor in Google, Business Insider and Airbnb. In 1998 he invested $250,000 (£187,350) in Google which bought him 3.3m shares of Google Stock which are now worth about $3.1 billion (£2.3 billion). He also bought The Washington Post in 2013 for $250 million (£187.35 million) in cash. Jeff Bezos has been married to his wife MacKenzie since 1993, and the couple have four children together. MacKenzie Bezos is a novelist and founder of Bystander Revolution, the anti-bullying organisation. In 2000 Bezos set up Blue Origin which is a human spaceflight start-up company which he envisages will help anybody go to space as the company works to decrease the cost and increase the safety of spaceflight. https://www.forbes.com/profile/jeff-bezos/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Bezos https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/mysuru/mysureans-email-to-bezos-gets-him-refund/articleshow/61842361.cms http://time.com/money/5039176/jeff-bezos-how-much-he-made-net-worth/ http://www.businessinsider.com/jeff-bezos-is-now-the-worlds-only-100-billion-man-charts-2017-11 https://www.forbes.com/profile/jeff-bezos/ https://twitter.com/jeffbezos?lang=en$100-billion

90 of the top 300 BILLIONAIRES Live in the USA
90 of the top 300 BILLIONAIRES Live in the USA The billionaires that make up the "Forbes 400" list have as much wealth as the entire African-American population of the U.S., over 41 million people, according to a new analysis by Bob Lord of the Institute for Policy Studies. Lord calls it "Dr. King's Nightmare." In the aftermath of the 2008 economic meltdown, wealth owned by households of color declined dramatically, as home values collapsed. The wealth of the richest 1 percent also declined in 2009, but rebounded quickly in subsequent years. As Bob Lord writes in Other Words, "The net worth of just 400 billionaires, a group that could fit into a high school gym, is on par with the collective wealth of more than 14 million African- American households (41 million people). Both groups possess some $2 trillion, about three percent of our national net worth of $77 trillion." The only U.S. African-American on the Forbes 400 list is Oprah Winfrey, who has a net worth of $2.9 billion, placing her 184th on the list. She is one of 7 Black billionaires in the whole world. The U.S. has a persistent racial wealth divide, rooted in the legacy of discrimination in asset building, starting with slavery up to present day discrimination in mortgage lending. The homeownership rate for whites is 73.3 percent, 43.1 percent for African-Americans, and 47.6 percent for Latinos. But present-day inequality is the poisonous result of eroding net worth among African-American and Latino households and an exploding concentration of wealth in the top 1 percent, and within that, among the richest 400 billionaires. The average net worth of the Forbes 400 richest rose $800 million to a record $5 billion in the last year. African-Americans make up 13 percent of the U.S. population, but have only 2.7 percent of total wealth. The median wealth for an African American household, according to a 2010 survey, is $4,900; for whites, it is $97,000. If current trends continue, the Forbes 400 will soon have as much wealth as the entire Latino population of over 53 million people, 17 percent of the U.S. population. Giving is up since the financial crisis. But while the stock market has made a complete recovery, top-50 philanthropy has clearly not. And this kind of giving has not nearly kept pace with the rise in American billionaires' wealth over the past decade. The Forbes 400 list, which tracks the richest people in the U.S., had a total net worth of $955 billion in 2003. By 2013, it had more than doubled, to $2 trillion. The Bloomberg Billionaires index, which launched in 2012 and tracks the 300 richest people worldwide, saw a $524 billion increase in wealth during 2013 alone. Tech billionaires gained 28 percent on the year, led by Tesla (TSLA) founder Elon Musk, whose wealth climbed 233 percent. This puts the 4 percent increase the Chronicle of Philanthropy hails in context. At a time when the richest Americans' wealth is skyrocketing, it's appropriate to ask whether their giving is skyrocketing as well. "forbes rich list" "London luxury shopping" billionaire millionaire Monaco "super rich" "private jet" yacht entertainment "luxs report" us usa America uk London "Donald trump" Dubai elite executive arab ceo forbes Europe vip money lil wayne travel "5 star hotel "super car" bugatti Lamborghini Ferrari Porsche private jet 2014 2015 monaco luxury "get rich" gambling investment Beverly Hills Malibu Miami "positive thinking" "super yacht" "mega yacht" "playboy mansion" "luxury lifestyle" mansion The country's non-billionaires are giving their share. As the New Yorker noted on Feb. 10, total annual giving by all Americans stands at about $230 billion, dwarfing the top 50's $7.7 billion. Tom Perkins, the near-billionaire venture capitalist, triggered a fresh round of soul-searching on American inequality in January, when he compared criticism of the rich to the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. He apologized for causing offense in a subsequent interview, while reiterating his argument about "class warfare." "Do you worry at all that you are divorced from reality?" Emily Chang of Bloomberg TV asked Perkins on Jan. 27. "Are you divorced from reality?" Perkins responded, "I don't know if anybody can answer that. Truthfully, I don't think so. I give and have given and will give millions and millions of dollars to a long list of charities. I have in mind some more chairs at universities."

Mark Zuckerberg Might Be Rich But He Doesn't Act Like It
Mark Zuckerberg is the founder and CEO of Facebook, has a net worth of $74 billion and counting. He's currently the fifth richest person in the world, according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index, but it seems he doesn't have a taste for opulence. Especially when it comes to cars, clothes, and travel. As a member of the Giving Pledge and cofounder of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which he started with his wife and college sweetheart Priscilla Chan, the Harvard dropout has dedicated much of his current and future fortune to charitable causes. http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-mark-zuckerberg-net-worth-priscilla-chan-2017-10 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Entertainment using http://wochit.com

7 Days News - Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is now the richest man in modern history. According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, his net worth broke US$150 billion (NZ$221 billion) in New York on Monday morning. This makes Mr Bezos richer than anyone else on the plannt since at least 1982, when Forbes published its inaugural wealth ranking. Mr Bezos, 54, has exceeded the net worth of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, the world's second-richest person, by about US$55 billion (NZ$80.5 billion). Mr Gates would have had a net worth greater than that of Mr Bezos if he'd held onto assets that he's since given away, largely to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Forbes excludes charitable sharing from its individual net worth calculations. Mr Bezos first appeared on the Forbes 400 list of America's richest people in 1998, with a net worth of US$1.6 billion (NZ$2.3 billion). 10 Richest Billionaires In India In 2014
India is a country with a relatively large GDP of over $1.87 trillion, but it’s also a nation of historically entrenched economic inequalities. There is a marked divide between a traditional, agricultural and rural labour force, and a metropolitan, industrial one. India’s economy has long been undergoing a process of globalization, with a largely English-speaking workforce and the emergence of world-scale Indian businesses. The wide-ranging benefits of an international economy, however, are still largely the privilege of the Indian elite. The Indian business people making their way up in the world are those working in services, IT, pharmacology, industry, technology and oil. Services are the biggest source of economic growth, accounting for nearly two-thirds of India’s output, but comprising less than one-third of its labour force. India’s growth has accelerated since the early 1990s, averaging just below 7% each year since 1997. In 2010, the Indian economy rebounded robustly from the global financial crisis thanks to strong domestic demand. However, India’s economic growth began slowing in 2011 after a slowdown in government spending and a decline in investment, caused by investor pessimism about the government’s commitment to further economic reforms. This past year has been particularly unproductive and India’s economy has been struggling. Despite a 12% rise of the stock market, the economy was hit by almost double-digit inflation and the rupee fell by 16%. Over the past year, the wealth of India’s 100 richest grew by a mere 3%. The billionaires on this list, as per Bloomberg’s billionaire list, represent the successful few. All are involved in massive nationwide or international business endeavours. Around half of these leaders are first generation entrepreneurial billionaires whose businesses are actively helping to stimulate the national economy and create employment. 10. Gautam Adani – $7.3 billion 9. Savitri Jindal – $7.4 billion 8. Kumar Birla – $7.4 billion 7. Anil Ambani – $8.4 billion 6. Shiv Nadar – $13.3 billion 5. Azim Premji – $16.6 billion 4.
