Namaste Doston, In this video, we have tried to give an honest review of the National Pension System. National Pension System is a pension plan which is initiated by the Central Government of INDIA. National Pension Scheme (NPS) is a government-sponsored pension scheme. It was launched in January 2004 for government employees. However, in 2009, it was opened to all sections. The scheme allows subscribers to contribute regularly in a pension account during their working life. On retirement, subscribers can withdraw a part of the corpus in a lump sum and use the remaining corpus to buy an annuity to secure a regular income after retirement. Any Indian citizen between 18 and 60 years can join NPS. The only condition is that the person must comply with know your customer (KYC) norms. You will know about the following information of NPS:- (i) NPS Calculator. (ii) NPS Contribution. (iii) NPS Tax Benefit. (iii) how to invest in NPS. (iv) NPS returns. Just In: Trump found personally pocketing gov’t funds in seven states from 5 Million people

02:08
Public pension funds in at least seven U.S. states have invested millions of dollars in an investment fund that owns a New York hotel and pays one of President Donald Trump’s companies to run it, according to a Reuters review of public records. That arrangement could put Trump at risk of violating an obscure constitutional clause, some legal experts say. The funds in the states of California, New York, Texas, Arizona, Montana, Michigan and Missouri have more than 5 million members, including state lawmakers in California, teachers in Texas, and police officers in New York, just to name a few. The fund also includes the California Public Employees’ Retirement System, the largest public pension fund in the nation.

Basics of Pension Funds & other Investing Strategies & Investing Options.

01:05
Pension is an arrangement to provide people with an income when they are no longer earning a regular income from their employment. The terms retirement plan and superannuation refer to a pension granted upon retirement of the individual. Retirement plans may be set up by employers, insurance companies, the government or other institutions such as employer associations or trade unions. Pension does not contain any hard cash award granted in lieu of consolidated vacation leave to an officer whose salary is not paid out of the Federal Consolidated Fund. Retirement plans may be classified as defined benefit or defined contribution according to how the advantages are resolute. A defined benefit plan guarantees a certain expense at retirement, according to a fixed formula which usually relys on the member's salary and the number of years' membership in the plan. The expenses provided at retirement that is supported upon the amount of money aided and the performance of the investment vehicles used is defined contribution plan. The common use of the term pension is to describe the payments a person receives upon retirement, usually under pre determined legal and/or contractual terms. A recipient of a retirement pension is known as a pensioner or retiree. Pension is a matter of fixed amount income security for a person when you have no regular source of income from your job and that is you are retired now. Pension plans are growing in all the aspects and with the advent of new financial firms one can plan pension amount for retirement from the early days at work which is known as the annuities. There are several plans but here we will discuss the benefits of some of the major types in the economy. Some plans are provided by the national ruling government or state one. They provide pension plan completely on the social citizen security basis. The amount may not completely suit up to the inflation rate but one cannot deny that it is the biggest sponsored pension plan in any country. Its biggest advantage is that one does not have to pay or invest money for it to the government during working life. Even if one has to (in some countries) its value is bare minimum in comparison to the private annuities schemes. As mentioned above the second largest pension system going all over the world. In this process one has to invest a fixed amount regularly to a firm and at the end of the working life he/she receives a fixed monthly income throughout his life. This is called annuity investment during the working life. The main advantage of this pension plan is that one can decide the retirement pension amount during the retirement days and most of the plans are all customized with add ups and discounted. Tax basis government pension scheme is another one. This is tax related pension scheme which is one of the widest running schemes for pension. One's taxation payment is the parameter towards this pension scheme. The main advantage is that unlike annuities investment one does not have to invest a penny for it during the working life. It is like loyalty benefit from the government. The internal Retirement Plans is another one in the list. Most of the company's provide this scheme under which a fixed amount is deducted directly from the salary and a pension amount is given to the employee. This pension plans allow a good amount tax benefits to the employee. The taxation exemption is different in different countries. This amount which is deducted is less and the taxation benefit is the key advantage in this plan. Non government and non company plans which are run at the sole risk bond of the person's deal with the firm. Under this scheme the advantage is that a huge amount as pension can be expected but the non authenticity of the company is the key risk and most of the returns for pension plans are completely market dependent. It is always recommended that company pension scheme and the government ones must be taken if one has a choice for the security reasons. Then comes the annuities and then others. What is NPS (National Pension System)? Retirement Planning Tips by Yadnya

06:49
NPS (National Pension System) is a defined contribution based Pension Scheme launched by Government of India with the following objectives - To provide old age income, reasonable market based returns over long run and extending old age security coverage to all citizens. NPS, India's answer to the US' retirement scheme- 401(K)-is a government-approved pension scheme for Indian citizens in the 18-60 age group. While central and state government employees have to subscribe mandatorily, it's optional for others. The scheme offers two kinds of accounts-a compulsory Tier-I account and a voluntary Tier-II account. One can open a Tier-II account only if one has an active Tier-I account. Two things that make NPS a genuine pension scheme are restrictions on withdrawal from Tier-I account and the rule that a part of the Tier-I corpus at the end of the tenure has to be used to buy annuity, which gives regular payments in lieu of a lump sum. State and local governments all around the country have failed to set aside enough money to pay for the pensions they have promised to workers in the public sector. Policy Briefs: Josh Rauh Warns Why Taxpayers Will Have To Bail Out Public Pensions

01:20
Pension promises are increasingly consuming state and local budgets. In order to fund pensions, state and local governments are making risky investments in the hopes that high returns will pay future benefits. However, when the investments do not do well, taxpayers have to pick up the tab. Pension schemes seek to diversify investments from government papers

03:30
Pension schemes are seeking to diversify investments from government papers to private equity as they seek to increase returns for their members. Association of Pension Administrators of Kenya Chairman Hosea Kiili, says this has been made possible by the recent certification of alternative investment avenues by the Retirement Benefits Authority. The regulator however says that any ill-informed investments would not be condoned. Non-resident Indians (NRIs) can invest in National Pension System (NPS) to get a social security cover, pension regulator PFRDA's chairman Hemant Contractor said on Wednesday.  While RBI has communicated to PFRDA about NRIs being eligible to make such investments, the government will shortly come out with a clarification on Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) guidelines to facilitate non-resident Indians to invest in National Pension System (NPS), he said.  "There was some ambiguity about whether to add NPS as eligible investment by NRI. So, we took up the matter with RBI and very recently they have given this clarification that NPS like insurance and mutual fund could also be eligible investment for NRIs," Contractor said at an event organised by PFRDA here.  The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) is in talks with lenders such as SBI, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank and several other south India-based banks to tap potential of NRIs.  "We have started talking to bankers about attracting NRIs to enroll for NPS scheme. We see NRIs as very attractive market for NPS. We would like to push for NPS for the NRIs," he said.  The move will also help to increase the subscriber base and expand the pension corpus in the private sector.  The current corpus under the National Pension System is Rs 91,000 crore.

11:22
#NPS #NationalPensionScheme #taxplanning National Pension Scheme (NPS) is a retirement/tax saving scheme that can help save tax and get regular pension after retirement. The Government of India introduced the National Pension scheme in 2004 only for Government Employees but later opened it for all citizens of the country in 2009. In this video Mr. Varun Malhotra will show with the help of actual calculations whether it is better to invest in NPS for Retirement and Tax benefits or simply to invest in the Nifty Index fund. Calculations have been done for : 1. A 30 year old 2. A 40 year old 3. A 50 year old and for 5%, 20,% and 30% Tax Brackets. Certain assumptions have also been taken in coming up with the final numbers, as shown in the video itself. The Tax benefits provided under NPS, the associated sub-sections under 80C and the extra 50K exemption under National pension scheme were discussed in the previous video (Part 2/3)

Why is NORWAY so RICH? - VisualPolitik EN

15:17
Norway is one of the World’s wealthiest countries. Also they have really small inequality between rich and poor and a big welfare state. Part of this wealthy lifestyle can be explained with their enormous oil reserves, located on the Nord Sea. But… this is not the only one. In fact, Norway has managed their natural wealth on a very specific way: state capitalism. This means: Government control a big share of the economy but, then again, it behaves as a business: they care about efficiency and productivity, save money and even… invest it in the stock market! In fact, Norway is not just a wealthy country. It is also one with a big sway on international finance. Why? Because the Norwegian Central Bank invest all the oil profits on the stock market. This is the so called ‘Norway’s sovereign wealth fund’ or the ‘Norwegian pension fund’. This country invest more than 1 TRILLION dollars in companies from all over the world. But how does this system work? In this video, we will tell you how. What investors can learn from Norway

Hebden Consulting -- Independent Financial Consultants www.hebdenconsulting.com -- Connect with us -- LinkedIn: https://goo.gl/nV3Avx Twitter: https://goo.gl/WvuFu1 Facebook: https://goo.gl/33EQbC -- Transcript -- What investors can learn from Norway RP: Some investors like to copy the investment strategy of well-known fund managers. Others try to emulate the endowments of top American universities. But ordinary investors are probably better off learning from what the Norwegian government has done with its national pension fund. Elroy Dimson was one of the architects of what’s become known as the Norway Model. ED: Well the “Norway Model” is the name that we gave to the Norwegian way of looking after its national wealth. So they’re quite new and they’ve grown a great deal because of the oil wealth in the Sea around Norway. And, they perceive that wealth belonging to future generations. Everybody in Norway, when results come out, sees on the front of their daily paper how much wealthier they are or how much poorer they are. It’s a very transparent process and is one that has ensured that the fund is perceived by the population as really being there. Because it is theirs, for individual Norwegians and for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they are eventually born. RP: Transparency is hugely important. Investors need to know what they’re investing in and how much they’re paying. But there are other lessons that they can learn from the Norway Model. ED: Well, the Norwegian approach is one of going for the maximum of diversification for the minimum of cost. And, individuals can do the same thing for themselves. Norway has about 8000 different equities in their portfolio. But, an individual who puts their money into a low-cost managed fund from one of the major providers of index funds, will also have about 8000 equities in their portfolio. The individual will pay a little bit more, but it can still be remarkably inexpensive compared to alternatives. And so they can emulate what Norway does in a way which they simply couldn’t do if they wanted to emulate Yale or Harvard or Abu Dhabi. Because those are all entities that have direct investments and private equity and so forth, which isn’t open to individuals. RP: And that, in a nutshell, is how to invest like the Norwegian government. Diversify, keep your costs low and insist on absolute transparency. Governments and other institutional investors around the world are following Norway’s lead — and you can too. Should I invest in NPS? | Should you invest an extra ₹ 50,000 in NPS to save tax?

05:24
NPS has evolved as a good financial product for retirement planning. The government is trying to make it more attractive by giving extra tax benefits to the investors. The NPS is drawing attention because of its tax benefit under section CCD (1b). It also forces you to save regularly, save on taxes and build a retirement corpus. If withdrawal is made after 60 years of age, at least 40 per cent of the accumulated funds must be used to buy an annuity. The rest of the money can be withdrawn in a lump sum. If you are looking for a tailor-made government sponsored scheme to invest for your retirement, you can consider investing in NPS. But you should opt for it only if you are prepared to hold on to your investments till your retirement at 60 years. If you can take care of your long-term investments on your own, you can go ahead with your investments in Equity Linked Savings Schemes (ELSSs) or diversified equity funds. That's when I might have to take out my mutual funds. My only worry is my dad works for the state of Illinois. The state's pretty much insolvent. And even his health care, which is through the state of Illinois, it could take up to a year for him to get reimbursed for things like that, so that is worrisome. Justine Underhill: Retirement is all some people ever think about, especially the 50-million-plus Americans set to retire in the next few years. They obsess over it, like my dad did. It's what they worked for. It's their dreams. But those dreams could be shattered. You're about to hear Real Vision's founder and CEO, Raoul Pal, explore why we're heading into a retirement crisis in America and around the world as many people take on more risk than they understand. I was curious to see if anyone was thinking about this, so we spoke with people in New York and heard the same story over and over-- people pushing off retirement, people not having enough savings, people relying on government pensions. Here's some of what they said. No. No way I could have saved enough for retirement. I mean, I have enough to retire, let's say, if I want to go to Wyoming or something like that. I saved enough for at least the next 10 years. Who knows with inflation what will happen, but I feel the next 10 years, I'm OK. If the United States government goes out of business, then my pension won't be there. These stories were just a small sample of what we heard. And this is not just something that those actively looking for retirement are going to face. It's something that's going to have a big impact on my generation as well, whether it's figuring out pensions, or social security, or potentially supporting our own parents'. Retirement is part of the promise of life in the developed world. And if that promise isn't met, it's really going to affect everyone, whether you're hoping to retire in 5 years or 50. Roaul Pal: My name's Raoul Pal. I'm the CEO and co-founder of Real Vision. But today, I'm talking on behalf of Global Macro Investor, my research business. I want to talk about what I think is the biggest, single theme of our generation. And I think it's the most important thing that anybody can understand. And it's all about the pension crisis. You see, demographics is the big story of our time. And it's all about the story of the baby boomer generation. This was the largest generation of people the world had ever known in the richest countries in across the globe. Now, that generation drove all of the macroeconomic forces that we come to recognize as normal. When they first came into the labor force back in the 1970s when they 20 or so years old, what they did was they bid up the demand for goods. Because if you think about it, a record number of people came in to buy their first suits, their first house, their first car, their first table, their first chair. Everything was new. That demand created an enormous problem for the world to deal with, and it created the inflationary environment of the '80s.
