River and Flood Analysis module enables to carry out HEC-RAS analysis directly in AutoCAD Civil 3D environment. You can use various automated tools to create cross sections, and because Civil 3D has GIS capabilities you can make compelling presentations about you analysis results (floodplain map on top of satellite image etc.). In this video we start from scratch, using base data (surface model) from InfraWorks 360, we show some data manipulation tools before we start with actual river flood analysis. Finally we take a quick overview, how to get your project from AutoCAD Civil 3D into HEC-RAS standalone product. Matt demonstrated how to use the InfraWorks 360 model environment to simulate flow over the terrain by leveraging Hydronia RiverFlow2D technology. Joining Matt was Reinaldo Garcia, Model Development Leader at Hydronia. Reinaldo directs the group that developed the RiverFlow2D hydraulic engine and is our partner with Project Boulder. Project Boulder bridges the InfraWorks 360 environment and the RiverFlow2D computation model which enables 2-dimensional flood simulations to occur.
