Instantly improve your English with 3 easy words!

22:53
Improve how you sound in English by mastering when these three words are used! I've met thousands of English learners at all levels. Most of them, even the advanced students, make mistakes with the words "a", "the", and "to". These are some of the most common words we use, so in this lesson I'm going to teach you how we use these words. I don't want to look just at grammar; I want you to understand these words and why we use them. If you're an advanced English student, this will be a great review for you. If you're a beginner, try to understand this and save yourself years of English mistakes. TAKE THE QUIZ: https://www.engvid.com/instantly-improve-your-english-with-3-easy-words/ TRANSCRIPT Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo. The things I do for love. There's not a thing... Hi. James from engVid. Today's lesson is about instantly improving. Now, I know... "Instant", what does that mean? People say it all the time. I want to show you a little trick that will make your English sound better instantly, and I will give you a technique that you can use after to help practice this. What I have found are students have a mistake or make a mistake when they drop these three words, and because of that I know you're not a native speaker. But today I'm going to address that, show you the three words... Okay? Explain why, and then I will give you a technique that you can use at home soon as you go back over this video or any video to practice it, and you will get instantly better. 10-20%. Okay? Want to know what I'm talking about? Let's go to the board and look at something you've learned, but today you're going to understand. You ready? So, Mr. E said: "Which three words can help you sound like a native speaker?" I'm going to help you a little bit by doing this, and then we're going to go to the board. The words I'm talking about, and you might not consider them words but they are words are: "a" or "an"... Okay, and I consider that one word because it's modified. Right? "The" and "to". Of course you're going to say: "Yeah, James, we know all these. We learned this at beginner, so how does that instantly help me improve my English?" The problem is this: When a person knows something they will talk, when they understand they will change their behaviour or they will use the information. Many students know about articles and the preposition "to", but they actually don't use them in sentences. Many times I've heard students go... Say: "I need to go work tonight." Soon as you say that I know you're not a native speaker. Or if they say: "I bought car yesterday" or "I bought food..." Not "some food". "I bought apple yesterday at the store." I'm like: "A-... You mean an apple, right?" They don't think to say it, because they know: "Teacher, you know what I'm saying." And I go: "Yeah, I know what you're saying, but the way you said it I know English is not your first language." So what I want to do is get you to come back to understanding, not just knowing why these words are important, the fact that, especially with the articles we're going to talk about, they are in most of the sentences. You can almost not get by a sentence without using them. So let's go to the board and take a look. First, what is an article? Well, you'll see an article is the letter "a" or "an". Quickly on that one, "an" is used when we have a vowel sound, sound... Not a... Not just a vowel. So when you say: "A apple", we know "a" and "a" make it difficult for us to actually get it out and for you to understand, so we add: "an" to put a consonant to make it easier for the listener. "I want an apple." Oh, okay, cool. How about "hour"? Teacher, that has an "h" in front of it. I'm like: "Enh?" But we say: "hour", we don't say: "h-our", because with "a" we have to say: "an hour", and that once again tells me one hour. You keep noticing I keep saying "one". I'll explain in a second. Now, this is what we call and indefinite article. I.e. it's not special. When I say to you: "I want a marker", a marker. All right? I'm talking about this. See this? They're all basically the same. I don't care what type of marker. "A" just means generally speaking marker. That's why it's indefinite; it's not special. When we look at the word "the", "the" is special. In this case, when I say to you: "I want the marker", which one do you think I'm talking about? Can you see the difference? Clearly. Even if you don't know, you would look and see four, and see this and go: "He's probably talking about this one." So with a definite article what's happening is someone is being very specific. Well, there are two things. They could say something is special or something is specific. Okay? And here we have definite article is "the". "Tell the man I like him." Okay? "Tell the man", in this case both of us have to know what you're talking about, because if there are 10 men you'll go: "Which man?"
Are You Afraid Of Exams?

03:42
To support us visit http://www.patreon.com/sprouts The reason why we remember specific moments or movies is because they have been stored in our memory under the influence of emotions. When we win or fail, cry or celebrate, we learn fast, deep and plenty. But when we are afraid our brain limits our ability to think, for a good reason. Fear is an emotion induced when we face a threat to our physical or psychological well being. It causes a change in brain and organ functions and ultimately in our behavior first we get stressed or aggressive, then we are left with three final ways out: freeze, fight or flight. The reason for this is evolution. Over the last million years, we learn that when we meet a dangerous animal, we better freeze, fight or run and hide. To save our life this is now programmed in our genes. But something else happens. When it gets dangerous a specific region of our brain, the Amygdala, takes over. Its job is to protect us and save our life. To act fast it refrains us from thinking and leaves us only with those three options. This makes creative and critical thought processes impossible. High pressure triggers a similar response. In one experiment, German neuroscientist Prof. Dr. Huether measured the brain function of young men playing a car racing game. The race was on and the men eager to win. When the researchers later looked at the scans of the brain they saw shockingly little activity. In fact, the young men hardly used their brains at all and they certainly didnt remembered much. Later the researchers repeated the experiment. This time they did not play the game themselves but just watched from inside the car sitting next to the driver. Instead of focusing to win, they focused on a lot of other things: driving behavior, the race track, other cars. This time the brains showed lots of activity Learning happened and memories were created. The scientists concluded that when we panic at a math exam or when a salesmen fears to miss his monthly target, it can create a tunnel vision. Then our vision field becomes smaller, our learning limited and we cannot find the road to success. Next time when you are stressed to perform or when you panic during an exam, try this quick fix. First slowly breath in through your nose. To do it slow enough, count from one to five. Then breath out through your mouth, again counting to five. Repeat that for 1-5 minutes and your body will relax and your brain can switch from protection back to a learning mode. Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health? | Bailey Parnell | TEDxRyersonU

14:45
Scrolling through our social media feeds feels like a harmless part of our daily lives. But is it actually as harmless at seems? According to social media expert Bailey Parnell, our growing and unchecked obsession with social media has unintended long term consequences on our mental health. As social media continues to become part of the fabric of modern life – the “digital layer” – abstinence is becoming less of an option. Bailey think it’s high time we learned to practice safe social before it’s too late. What are the common triggers? How are they affecting you over time? How can you create a more positive experience online? Bailey covers this and more in “Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health?” Bailey Parnell was recently named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women. She is an award-winning digital marketer, public speaker and businesswoman with a talent for helping people tell better stories. Her work and expertise have been featured on CBC, CTV & in other local Toronto media. Bailey recently founded SkillsCamp, a soft skills training company where they help people develop the essential skills needed for professional success. She also currently works in digital marketing at Ryerson University. Bailey is a frequent public speaker having spoken to more than 10 thousand people. She primarily speaks about social media, personal branding, and media and mental health. She guest lectured her first MBA class at 21-years-old and has been the youngest speaker as multiple academic conferences. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Communication and Culture with a research focus on social media and mental health, and holds an honours BA from the RTA School of Media at Ryerson. How To Relieve Stress - Scientifically Proven Stress Relief Techniques

17:36
How To Relieve Stress - The absolute best ways to reduce your stress permanently and how to avoid gimmicks that don't work. The Ultimate Life Purpose Course - Create Your Dream Career: http://www.actualized.org/life-purpose-course Leo's Top 140 Self Help Books http://www.actualized.org/books Full Video Transcript Here: http://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-relieve-stress Video Summary: Up to a point, stress is an unavoidable part of living. It has become more problematic as our modern world becomes more complex and frantic. To fail to acknowledge your role in creating the stress in your life will simply amplify it. Review what choices you've made, and whether you want to retract any of them for the sake of reducing your stress exposure. Stress tends to be reduced once we simply accept our choice to live with the stress-inducing situation, rather than pursue some alternative action. Positive, constructive ways to deal with stress include most notably meditation, sports, music, reading, and creative hobbies. Self-destructive, unhealthy methods for dealing with stress are easy to identify. Even innocuous-looking methods of stress relief can become a crutch that steals your quality of life and creates guilt and recrimination. Less obviously destructive diversions such as video games, the internet, and TV create a low consciousness that disengages you from your mission in life. Proactively exam what is causing the greatest stress in your life. If you choose to "just live with it," identify positive ways to mitigate that stress. Evaluate what negative stress reducing technique to eliminate to improve the quality of your life.

6 Things That Happen to Your Body When You Eat Eggs

10:02
6 things that happen to your body when you eat eggs. Have you ever heard of an egg diet? Eating eggs is a fantastic way to give you a health boost. According to WebMD, each egg only contains 75 calories and is packed with 7 grams of protein, 5 grams of fat and 1.6 grams of saturated fat. Not to mention it contains iron and other essential vitamins and minerals. If you’re not eating eggs on a regular basis, you should be! #EatingEggs #BoiledEgg #EatEggs Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music Summary: 6. Boost Your Weight Loss: Did you know that eating eggs can actually boost your weight loss? Many people are surprised when they hear this because they’ve been told that eggs are unhealthy and fattening. But a study done by the ROCHESTER CENTER FOR OBESITY RESEARCH found that eating eggs for breakfast actually helps limit your calorie intake throughout the day by over 400 calories. Researchers from this study concluded that by just eating eggs for breakfast, you could lose three pounds a month. The reason why eating eggs can help limit your calorie intake is that they curb your appetite. So if you find that you are hungry, try eating some eggs. 5. Help Your Body Prevent Breast Cancer: Research that was conducted by HARVARD UNIVERSITY found that eating eggs as an adolescent could help prevent breast cancer. You’re probably wondering how that’s possible. Researchers at the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA found that choline, which is in eggs, can help reduce breast cancer by 24%. The daily intake recommendation for choline is 550 mg for men and 425 mg for women. One egg contains 125.5 mg, so if you consume two eggs, you’re almost halfway to consuming your daily intake. 4. Reduce Stress and Anxiety: A study was published in 2004 in PROCEEDINGS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, and researchers found that when people had sufficient lysine sources in their diet, their stress and anxiety levels were reduced. The researchers believe that lysine modulated the serotonin in the nervous system. Can you guess what food has high amounts of lysine? Stress and anxiety can also have a huge impact on your weight and your diet. When people are stressed out, they tend to eat more (or less). This can lead to weight gain or unhealthy weight loss - both of which can be detrimental to our health.in addition to this, stress and anxiety can affect your sleeping patterns. So try to eat more eggs to reduce your stress and your anxiety! 3. Protect Your Eyes: There are two types of antioxidants in eggs – lutein and zeaxanthin – they both have protective effects on your eyes. Both these antioxidants are found in the yolk. What these antioxidants do is reduce the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. A study published in the AMERICAN JOURNAL OF CLINICAL NUTRITION found that participants who consumed 1.3 egg yolks per day for almost five weeks increased their blood levels of zeaxanthin by 114-142%, and lutein by 28-50%. 2. Lower Inflammation: Eggs contain dietary phospholipids – compounds which have huge effects on inflammation according to studies. In fact, a recent study published in the journal Nutrients found that there was a connection between dietary intake of egg phospholipids and choline and the reduction on inflammation. By lowering inflammation in the body, you reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, according to PAUL M. RIDKER, DIRECTOR OF THE CENTER FOR CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE PREVENTION at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital. 1. Protects Your Liver: As mentioned already, eggs have high levels of choline. A review was published in the journal Advances In Nutrition, and it explained that choline deficiency is linked to the build-up of hepatic lipids, which have the ability to cause non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The good news is that a study found in the JOURNAL OF NUTRITION found that women who had high choline diet lowered the risk of experiencing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Cholesterol is an important part of the cell membrane and the liver produces large amounts of it each day. When we eat eggs, the liver doesn’t have to produce as much. This structural molecule is responsible for making testosterone, estrogen, and cortisol, which are all very important contributions to the function of the human body. Basically, if we were to consume a large portion of eggs (say, three of them) it would even out with the liver to make sure the body gets the correct levels of cholesterol. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Bestie : https://goo.gl/tUqro6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestieinc/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.bestie.com/

Still Bloated Even With Apple Cider Vinegar?

A Quality B-Vitamin Blend: https://shop.drberg.com/nutritional-yeast-regular Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis DATA: http://orthomolecular.org/library/jom/2001/articles/2001-v16n04-p225.shtml Dr. Berg talks about the relationship between vitamin B3 and stomach acid. Betaine hydrochloride, apple cider vinegar and intermittent fasting are best remedies for low hydrochloric acid and vitamin B3 (Niacin) can help you make more stomach acid. B3 is involved in over 300 enzymes in the body. If you have subclinical deficiency or you have B3 but it isn’t enough, the body will use B3 in a certain priority system. If you are deficient in B3, you may not have all the deficiency symptoms. Apple cider vinegar usually works for bloating, acid reflux, GERD, burping, belching, gastroparesis etc. but there is a specific condition where it will not work, and that is when you are B3 deficient. There is a condition called B3 Dependency where the body needs more B3 whether it’s the stress that is causing this or the microbes that are depleting your reserves. Tryptophan is another source of vitamin B3. B3 is also necessary to the production of ATP which is the energy currency of the mitochondria in the stomach cells that make hydrochloric acid. Symptoms of Low Hydrochloric Acid • Low Absorption of Minerals • Decreased Amino Acid • Leaky Gut – Allergies • Bloating / Abdominal Pain/ Acid Reflux • SIBO or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth - Infection lower in the digestive tract. • Constipation / Diarrhea • Sluggish Gallbladder Deficient in Vitamin B3 Symptoms • Depression • Anxiety • Fatigue • Skin Problems • Diarrhea • Low HCL Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 52 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Hepa means “liver” and titis means “inflammation of”. Hepatitis C virus is a very specific virus that invades the liver cells and creates a lot of inflammation and damage which is transmitted by blood. It can't be transmitted through kissing someone, but mainly through a dirty needles, transfusion, sex (if involves breaking a blood vessel) and even (rarely) getting a tattoo or acupuncture. Hepatitis C virus actually mimics the LDL or low density lipoprotein. When you have this condition, you are more at risk of getting diabetes, cirrhosis and cancer. But 10 to 50% of this the cases of hepatitis C spontaneously resolved mainly in younger people and females. Symptoms of Hepatitis C • Fatigue • Weight Loss • Nausea • Joint Pain • Muscle Pain • Loss of Cognitive Function Inflammation as a result from Hepatitis C virus could cause insulin resistance. Where the insulin is trying to connect to the cell and the cell receptors is resistive of that hormone that result to not getting the feedback loop to turn off the insulin and the body starts making more insulin. Every time you have inflammation, you will also get a lot of oxidative stress. The combination of insulin resistance or high insulin and inflammation would cause double damage to the liver. Cancer has the tendency to spread in the areas of inflammation. What to Do? (Antioxidants) 1. Milk Thistle 2. Ascorbic Acid 3. L-Glutamine 4. Alpha-Lipoic Acid 5. Alph-Tocopherol 6. B-Complex 7. NAC/Selenium/SAMe Food Based Antioxidants • Parsley • Kale • Cruciferous Vegetables Things to Do to Reduce Oxidative Stress 1. Intermittent Fasting 2. Cruciferous Vegetables 3. Ketogenic Diet 4. Avoid Alcohol 5. Minimize Medication 6. Stress Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 52 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Teaching Kids How to Manage Stress Effectively

01:51
This video features an activity I do with my students each fall as part of our "Health Champions" unit. The activity involves 1) brainstorming a variety of ways in which we can relax when we feel worried, nervous, or anxious about something and 2) creating a simple visual to help each child remember the 3-4 strategies that work the best for them. Learning how to manage stress is an important topic, and this activity helps kids effectively address this need. Give these ideas a try in class with your students or at home with your children. A few months ago I officially re-launched my YouTube page as the "Teaching Kids" channel and posted my first new video of the school year. Each of my new "Teaching Kids" videos will feature 1-2 minute tips for educators and parents and will address a wide variety of topics that focus on teaching the whole child, including academics, character, and health. For more Teaching Tips, articles, and other resources on teaching the whole child, please visit www.stevereifman.com.

IMPORTANT TO POINT OUT: RC Designs ONLY discuss the design tips that make current study room for students better by tackling the stress point of them. These steps are entirely from the student’s perspective and NOT the librarian’s perspective. Meaning no discussion of staff function in the library. RC Designs’ discussing points are: 1. What does an academic study room need from a library that is not being provided at the current moment? 2. What does the design of an academic study room need to provide these missing elements? The solution for both discussing point is by tackling the main stress points:  It’s too loud  Always fall asleep  No group setting possible  It’s too cramped  No privacy  No chill zone !!! 13 MOST SATISFYING HACKS THAT WILL HELP YOU RELAX

07:51
Awesome ways to relax It's getting harder and harder these days to find time to relax, this might be due to work stress, health issues of family stress. Regardless of the reason, it is important to take some time off once in a while watch some TV or Youtube, and find activities that will help you feel more at ease and relaxed. For this reason, we created this video to show you little tricks on how to relax, and relieve your stress or anxiety. There are many stress relief toys out there, for instance, the fidget spinner, coloring books, stress balls, puzzles and for some people the Rubiks cube, so in this video, we are showing you how to do some of them. Have you ever tried making your own slime? Then try this little hack because in this DIY recipe we show you how to make your very own Glow-in-the-dark slime that you will fall in love with. In a bowl add some glue, some sodium tetraborate, and some fluorescent dye; mix them all together using a plastic spoon until it starts to get more solid. Touch it with your hand to see if you can mold and then pick it up and start molding it into whatever shape you like. This is ideal to have in the office, and when you feel like you are getting stressed or you would like to lay back, relax and think for a while, slime is your best body to help you do that. Another satisfying toy we have is the DIY stress ball, and, you can make it using items from your own home. Here is how to make it. In a bowl, add some water and cornstarch ( which is ideal for thickening any liquid), mix the two together using a spoon until it reached the consistency you desire, if you would like the mixture to be thicker add more cornstarch or if you think it's too thick add more water. The using a funnel transfer the mixture in a balloon and seal it the way you would normally do. There you have it, your very own stress ball. you can mold it and squeeze it as a regular stress ball. If you are more of an artistic person and doodling is the best way to get you to relax, we have some easy ways to paint and doodle different patterns. They are ideal for creating your own coloring challenges as well. We have 17 different patterns that you can choose from and we show you the process of how to create one from scratch; the only thing you need for these is a piece of paper, a marker, a ruler and your love for doodling. As a bonus, we included a tutorial on how to make an optical illusion by folding your paper and creating a secret staircase on your paper. In addition to those tricks, we included a Japanese method to help you relax in less than 10 minutes. Each finger represents an emotion you are experiencing. - The thumb represents worry - The index finger represents fear - The middle finger represents anger - The ring finger represents sadness - The pinky finger represents confidence Identify the emotion you are feeling and using your opposite hand hold the finger with the feeling you are experiencing for two minutes. This will help you relax more easily and remove the negative energy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Timestamps: 0:06 - DIY glow in the dark slime 0:36 - DIY stress ball 1:22 - Awesome 3D pattern 1:42 - Doodling pattern 2:11 - Arrow doodle 2:34 - 3D drawing illusion 3:32 - The impossible shading pattern 4:34 - Japanese reflexology 5:44 - Doodle ideas 6:18 - How to make your own windmill ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/5Minute.Crafts.Girly/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/5.min.crafts/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/5m_crafts Subscribe to 5-Minute MAGIC: http://bit.ly/2ldditZ 5-Minute Crafts KIDS: https://goo.gl/PEuLVt The Bright Side of Youtube: https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/ Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/
