Hefei has an area of 11,408.48 km² and, as of 2011 Census, a population of 7,080,000 inhabitants.
Hefei, capital city of Anhui province, is located between the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River, and beside the Chaohu Lake. It is a mid-China city nearest to the coastal cities in eastern China.After re-cantoning in 2011, under the city's jurisdiction there are four urban districts, four counties, one county-level city and three development zones.

The fiscal revenue was 47.620 billion, increased by 39.3%, of which local revenue was 25.943 billion with an increase of 43.4%, the import and export volume totaled 9.958 billion dollars, increased by 54.9%，of which export volume was 5.626 billion dollars with an increase of 26.5%.
