Hello! Awesome Lecture, i wanna ask you something i hope you can answer it :) 1). What is the subject in international business? Is there any difficult in math? 2). Im planning to have degree in international business and im not good in math so can you give me a solution? Your answer can help my future and dream :) thanks
Lawrence Jones (3 years ago)
+Jerry Swandervan I'm studying IBM also I start next & I suck at math so I'm slightly scared
gepisar (3 years ago)
+Nauval El Ghifari There isnt much maths per se in the theory, but without math how can you evaluate risk and costs, depreciation and time value of money. Difficult is also relative... String theory maths is difficult ! Best just to learn maths and get good at it. Then its one less barrier to your dreams! OR do it faster and partner with someone who is good at maths, but then, you are forever dependent. This has risk... and reward; its a trade off; which is what "international business" is all about!
serial globetrotter (3 years ago)
awesome prof !! sweet and intellectual .. :-)
gepisar (3 years ago)
Looking forward to the next 22 videos in this series. Your lectures are excellent. They separate out the fundamental concepts and remove the smoke and mirrors. Lovin it!

Hello, nice lecture... International Business seems extremely intriguing but its unfortunate math is not my strong subject, I'll just stick to Law. :(
Faisal Imam (3 years ago)
The3rownie (3 years ago)
+olivia seed Well are you even interested in pursuing any of those options? I don't think it's bad that you want to take a year off, if that's what your gut says then do it! You have an undergrad degree which is great, I'm sure you can find employment somewhere. Not everyone goes on to grad school.. Besides, you most likely will have to start in an entry-level position anyways like everyone else. It matters more about your references and connections. Also going off to grad school or law school isn't going to guarantee a job either... and what if you don't even end up liking it. Law school is NOT cheap! It's good that you've realized this now and perhaps you can take the time now to sort things out and explain it to them. You won't "fall behind" if you take a year off btw, it's a totally different thing verses your undergrad. Good luck!
olivia seed (3 years ago)
+Krassimir Petrov yeah am just a lil bit confused in life I don't really know what o want to do with my life. I was thinking of taking a year off and think really hard about what I want. Cuz ppl are actually pushing me to get a masters degree or a law degree ( 2 years cuz I have a Bsc already). Urrrgh
Krassimir Petrov (3 years ago)
+olivia seed business usually requires very little math. also there is a difference between business and economics.
olivia seed (3 years ago)
+Krassimir Petrov really? Well I was thinking of doing this or law am not sure what I want. I studied economics at undergrads

"The invention of economics in 1776 by Adam Smith" are you serious? Economics was around a long time before Adam Smith. The Mercantile trading system is a good example of this, dating back to 1500, long before Adam Smith...
Krassimir Petrov (4 years ago)
It is not "invention", but the FOUNDATION OF MODERN ECONOMICS. Of course, there were plenty of works before that, but we talk of MODERN economics as it is understood today.
